Now here’s a story with a complicated twist!
This past July in Orlando, Brittany Ossenfort complained that it was not she who had been jailed recently on a prostitution charge, that the arrestee claiming to be her was Richard Phillips, who had befriended Ossenfort last year (while pretending to be a woman) and had become her roommate, but who with the passage of time began dressing and acting like her until Ossenfort finally discovered “she” was a man.
This was of course after which Phillips allegedly stole Ossenfort’s financial identity.
Ossenfort admitted to being completely fooled by Phillips: “He acted like a girl, talked like a girl, looks like a girl. He doesn’t even have an Adam’s apple.”
Did you hear about the novel way that Hollywood has come up with to deal with their excessive pigeon problem? They’re giving pigeons the contraceptive pill.
At this time there are over 5000 pigeons in the Hollywood area. Campaigners against the pigeons want to give them birth control pills in the form of a drug called OvoControl P in an attempt to cut their numbers in half over the next five years.
The contraceptives are being fed to the pigeons via bird food pellets. In a news story that I saw regarding Hollywood’s pigeon problem it was noted that the birds don’t seem to like to eat these special pellets. Perhaps it has something to do with a local woman who’s known as the Bird Lady who’s been encouraging the birds by leaving large bags of bird feed in different areas.
I certainly wouldn’t want to share my name with a famous movie character. Lately I’ve heard the tale of not just the movie Harry Potter, but two real life Harry Potter’s.
Two weeks ago I heard that a Brantford, Ontario Harry Potter was besieged with calls about the new Harry Potter book and movie and now I’ve just read about a 78 year old Florida man who’s name happens to be Harry Potter. He too has been getting calls from children every time a new book in the wildly popular series comes out.
“The kids want to know if I’m Harry Potter,” he said. “I tell them I’ve been Harry Potter for darn near 80 years!”
On Valentines day men were able to buy Viagra over the counter in Britain for the first time ever.
Three Manchester Boots pharmacies will sell the prescription-only medication in a pilot program that began on February 14th.
Men between the ages of 30 and 65 who are suffering from erectile dysfunction are now able to buy as many as four pills at a time for 50 pounds ($97) without having to get a prescription from a doctor first. They’ll have a private consultation with a Boots pharmacist instead where their medical history will be discussed and they’ll have their blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels tested.
When they return to the pharmacy for more pills they’ll need to see a private doctor to be sure that they are suitable for more pills.
“By creating a service that is easily accessible on the high street we hope that we help many more men seek help for a very common condition,” said Boots Director of Health care Alex Gourlay.
He said it was estimated that only one in 10 men suffering from erectile dysfunction were currently being treated.
A national roll out of the Viagra service will be assessed later in the year.
