Blame in on the dog

This past October, a Doberman Pinscher in Vancouver, Washington, named Victoria jumped up onto an electric stove and accidentally nudged a switch that started a fire in the apartment that she lived in. Damage to the apartment resulted in about $100,000 damage.

This is the second time this year that Victoria has jumped on the stove and started a fire. The first fire caused less damage.

Alright .. Do they get rid of the dog or should they replace the stove? Yeah, a dog shouldn’t be jumping on the stove, but I also don’t think that the stove should be that easy to switch on.

ViaTalk internet phone service

If you’ve been thinking of switching your landline telephone service over to Broadband Phone Service you might be very interested in taking a look at what ViaTalkhas to offer. ViaTalk offers VoIP telephone services in over 2,200 metro markets spanning all 50 states.

ViaTalk offers many of the services that you are used to receiving with your landline service and more. Features include enhanced voicemail, call hunt, call record, several types of caller ID, call forwarding, free in-network calling, call waiting and many other services that you can only get with a VoIP service.

At this time they are having a special- register now and get 6 months of free service. That sounds pretty good doesn’t it?

I took a look at some of the packages that they are offering and found that each of the plans offer “call anywhere in the US/Canada” from 500 minutes worth of calls per month to unlimitted, plus each plan offers voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call return, e911 support plus a variety of other features. Package prices range from $9.95 to $35.95.

VoIP also known as Voice over Internet protocol, has really been taking off in the last year and I know several people who have switched their service over to broadband technology who are happy with the service and quality of the calls. It might be a great time to start checking into a service such as ViaTalk if you’ve been thinking of switching your service from a regular telephone network to an Internet phone service.

Almost changed to Satellite TV today

I’ve had quite the day! Earlier today we had a cable company technician here for three, yes three hours! We had to call the company the other night because we noticed that some of the shows were were taping or just plain watching were getting digital interference. Sometimes it was so bad that the picture totally pixilated and you couldn’t tell what the actors were saying. It was terrible.

Ever since we moved here we’ve had problems with the signal. Apparently the cabling or equipment in our area is very old and that results in the houses in the area getting poor cable and even internet signals. They’ve known about the problem for several years now. This is not the first time we’ve had a tech here for two, three or even four hours trying to fix the problem or at least manipulate the equipment enough to get a slightly better signal. This is starting to make my stomach Churn, I’m so frustrated.

I swear earlier today we were thinking about switching to satellite TV instead. I figure that’s got it’s own particular set of problems though so I’ll wait a while and see how the work that was done today works out.
