It’s an odd coincidence in Shreveport, LA hospital. Thirteen nurses from the new born intensive care unit are having babies.
An NICU nurse, Joyce Smith, who’s worked at the Christus Schumpert Sutton Children’s Medical Center for nearly 30 years says “they’re warning the staff there must be something in the water”.
The hospitals depart has of course had pregnant staff before, but never so many at one time. Two of the 13 women have already given birth, one is a new foster mom, and ten more are expecting.
Kerry Tynes, an Obstetrician says the pregnant nurses are keeping him on his toes.
Well good luck to the ladies. I hope that none of their children needs the services that the department they work in provides!

Police in Covington, La said they caught a 16 year old robbery suspect who had managed to elude authorities on a number of occasions when his baggy pants fell down. The suspect stumbled and fell as police where chasing him.
“We literally caught him with his pants down,” Lt. Jack West of Covington police said.
The teen was suspected of robbing a man at gunpoint and stealing another man’s car after beating him with a brick. He’d run from police several times in the weeks leading up to his capture.
One the day of his arrest a police officer had spotted the teen standing on a street corner and called in for back up. Then he tried to make the arrest.
“They all converged on him from different directions,” West said. “He started to run, but his low-riding pants fell down and he stumbled to his knees.”
The suspect, whose name wasn’t released because of his age, has been booked on warrants for carjacking, armed robbery, two counts of aggravated battery and being a child in need of supervision.
Sounds like that was one arrest needed to be made. Vicious kid.

If you’ve discovered that your child has problems with drugs, alcohol or troubling behavioral problems, or if someone you know has a child that fits that description you might be interested in visiting the Echo Malibu website where they have a teen drug rehab program.
It’s administered by well educated and trained staff who care about improving the lives of the kids in their care.
I wouldn’t want to have to put my child in a rehab facility but if he had a problem that could be treated I would certainly want to help him. Please visit the Echo Malibu site if you are struggling with a decision to help a troubled adolescent.
