Thieves caught after leaving pictures behind

Two German teenagers in Berlin weren’t all that smart when they robbed another teenager.

The girls stole a 15 year olds shoes, money and mobile phone. I suppose they felt sorry for the girl though, because they ended up giving her their old mobile phone.

The two girls, both 17 years old, forgot that they old mobile contained photos of themselves smiling and striking poses.

Police were quick to publish the photos of the thieves online Tuesday in an effort to catch the girls. The girls ended up turning themselves in when their pictures appeared on the evening news.

“One girl was brought down by her father after he saw her on the television,” said police spokesman Frank Plewka. “Today the pictures were in the papers, so the father’s phone has been ringing all day, because everyone recognized them.”

Neither girl had ever been in trouble with the law before.

Students who played prank at school now face expulsion

Kids will be kids, but two Ohio high school students almost got away with a doozy of a prank. The pair could be kicked out of the school for allegedly posting a fake snow-day notice on the schools website.

The fake announcement informed visitors to the site that the school would be closed for the day to due winter weather. The posting confused parents since snow wasn’t in the forecast, but some students managed to stay at home anyway.

A school official, logging onto the site to write his own announcement that school would be delayed for an hour that day because of an extreme cold snap discovered that the site had been accessed by pranksters. Two high school girls have been charged with delinquency and face expulsion. The school in question is near Cincinnati, Ohio.

Naked Cello playing

Jesse Hale, a music major at Austin peay State university says that she’s “always had the desire to play the cello naked”.

She’s a member of the CJ boyd Sexxxtet of nude cellists who play their experimental chantlike songs in concert around the country.

Hale, who says she’s been playing naked since sixth grade, explained to Austin Peay’s newspaper in September that cellists “make full-body contact with their instrument,” so that “it just feels natural.”

Wow, I wonder what her father or brothers thought of her playing the cello naked in their home as a teenager?

From an Atlanta police report, summarized in a July issue of the weekly Creative Loafing:

A man working on a house on Smith Street was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries to his posterior. He happened to be bending over next to a wall that, unknown to him, a worker on the other side was drilling into, and the drill bit entered his “anal cavity.” (Creative Loafing of Atlanta), July 5, 2006)

New York’s Finest:

Four New York City police were called to an apartment house in July in the Bronx concerning a landlord-tenant dispute, but were distracted by a teenager in the hallway smoking marijuana and started to chase him, when a pit bull attacked the officers. The toll, 26 bullets later: one dead dog, one bitten officer, three other officers wounded by each other’s gunshots. (New York Post, July 24, 2006)
