Dreaming of a vacation in Hawaii

My wife and I have always wanted to have a vacation in Hawaii. I have no idea when we might end up going there, but it’s definitely on the list of places to visit at some point in the near future.

Every once in a while one of us starts looking at various vacation spots. It’s usually my wife that does this, but I look sometimes too. One site that I visited recently had a number of hawaii travel packages listed and they sounded enticing.

It seems that more and more people are visiting Hawaii and staying in Villa’s rather than big hotels or resorts. That sounds appealing to Trish and I. I think that staying in a villa or vacation home would be much more relaxing. It feel more like a home away from home since you’d have access to all the amenities that you’d be used to in your own home like the use of a kitchen, laundry and so on.

Another plus is that many of these Hawaii vacation villas are located very close to the beach and ocean. Imagine getting up in the morning and watching the sunrise over the ocean? Or having dinner on the villas patio and watching the sun go down. I know that we’d enjoy that.

Ah! I must stop talking about this right now or I’ll find myself with a credit card in one hand and the phone in the other as I make reservations for a Hawaii vacation!

Prisoners in the Pink

Do you remember that I wrote about a village in India recently that had painted the whole town pink? Well … Sherrif Clint Low of Mason Washington decided to try to deter inmates from becoming repeat offenders by covering the entire county jail with a pink wash.

Even the prisoners uniforms had a change of color. Prisoners now wear pink jumpsuits and pink slippers. Low dyed the uniforms after finishin painting the jail pink. He did this to stop inmates from stealing clothes from each other. The walls are painted pink in order to keep the inmates relaxed and keep the tempers at bay. So far things are working out with no fights between the prisoners.

The re-offense rate in the county is down by 70% too. Probably because release prisoners, if they’ve gone back to a life of crime might be doing it in a different county least they get caught again. I’m sure they wouldn’t want to return to the pink jail.

3 month old Thief?

» by Tricia in: Weird News

Villagers in a remote eastern India village protested after police arrived to arrest a three-month-old boy for robbery.

The boys name was subsequently dropped from a list of those accused of robbing bus passengers last week. Well yeah, the kid can’t even walk, how’s he going to rob bus passengers? An investigation is being conducted to figure out how this happened.

A police officer, Kumar, said the boy may have been named by the complainant “with a malicious intent”. Who on earth would have malicious intent against a 3 month old - more likely I believe, it was a prank.

Womans cancer ultimately causes death of son and husband?

A Bulgarian woman who killed her son was released from prison because of terminal cancer. She then went home and killed her husband.

The woman had been sentenced to 15 years in jail for killing her 29-year-old son with a garden hoe in April 2005 while he was sleeping. However, last month, authorities judging her to be in the final stages of cancer let her go home to pass away in peace with her husband at her side. Unfortunately things must have gone terribly wrong once she was home because that was where she stabbed her husband in the throat with a knife.

“It was established she was in the last stage of cancer, she had it all over her body,” said a spokeswoman for the Bourgas regional police. They had presumed she was feeling bad and that she would treat herself and rest. Little did they know that she would become aggressive and end up killing her husband.

The woman, 57 years of age at the time of her second murder, was from a village in eastern Bulgaria and she has been taken into custody again and is awaiting a new trial.

Even in jail her aggression towards her family continues, she’s threatened that, if she is released again, she will kill her second son as well.

I kind of feel sorry for the woman. I know that cancer can change a persons personality, particularly when it affects the brain, but I bet there were some deep seated feelings of hurt and resentment that set off her murdering spree. Perhaps she’d been an abused wife and mother before becoming ill with cancer?
