45 year old woman lived with a corpse

A Texas woman, 45, has been committed for mental evaluation after living in an apartment in Big Sandy for at least a week with her dead boyfriend’s body.

Police were flagged down last Friday by a man who stated that there was a stench coming from his sister’s apartment.

When police entered the apartment they found 50 year old William Drake dead on a couch. He appeared to have been dead at least a week. The woman apparently didn’t want to leave the apartment.

Burr said Drake died of natural causes and had recently stopped his dialysis treatments. He said Drake had lived for 10 years with the woman, who had been hospitalized for mental illness before. Burr declined to reveal her name.

Dd you know that a marriage in Saudi Arabia could end just because a husband wanted to see his wife’s face?

That’s what happened in the village of Khamis Mushayt when a man who’d been married to his 50 year old wife for 30 years decided to peek at his wife’s face under her veil as she slept. The man apologized stating he’d never do such a thing again, but she wants a divorce.

The customs of the village dictate that the marriage is now contaminated since he saw her face.

I know these are their customs, but I don’t really blame the man for wanting to have a look at the woman he’d been married to for 30 years. I certainly can’t imagine being married to someone and never seeing their full face.

Woman arrested for non-emergency 911 calls

Benton, Ill police have arrested and charged a woman, Tabitha Artis, with disorderly conduct for allegedly making several 911 calls that the police didn’t consider true emergencies.

Artis was persistently dialing up the county’s 911 system. She first called 911 last Saturday to complain that her husband had left their home with her car keys. A neighbor later reported that the Artises were fighting and the police ended up taking Mr. Artis away on a suspected parole violation.

Shortly after the first call Tabitha Artis called 911 three times during a 25 minute period. She was calling to demand an explanation for her husbands arrest. Emergencies were already busy with calls regarding a weather related power outage and since she could have been calling the police station directly, the police decided to arrest the woman.
