Gorgeous Maroon Trillium – Ontario’s provincial flower Of course this is a hybrid Trillium. Each year as it grows I get more flowers and they are larger than the year before. Trilliums can live for a long time … I wonder how big the flowers will be 10 years from now?

we had white ones where I grew up in the green river valley area east of Seattle.
My mom told me not to pick them — because they wouldn’t bloom the next year. I wonder if that was an old wives tale or botanically the truth.

Gorgeous specimen, VERY well shot, Ive never seen the centres so well – even in field guides – Bravo!
