I can’t remember the name of this huge fountain. It was in downtown Chicago.
It was a hot August day when I saw this in Chicago last summer and I wanted to run through the fountain too.

Well, there’s certainly a landmark. The trouble is, I just can’t stop staring at it.

Quite lovely, except for the strange black rectangle. Does the image on the front change, or is it strictly static?

The fountain image changes constantly. The black mark was likely a square that was changing. What they did was have people go the Chicago Art Museum and make a video of themselves smiling and then pursing their lips. So when their image comes up on the fountain it smiles at first then it purses it lips and water pours out the fountain. It’s marvelous!

yeah, I was going to mention that it spits water of the mouth of the image sometimes. It’s pretty cool. And they continue to change it I think. It’ll be interesting what creative things they do with it in the future.

That is by far the neatest piece of public art I’ve ever seen!

Wow, this is cool what part of Chicago is this? I lived there for about a year but never remember seeing this before. It does seem a bit odd that people just jump in a public fountain, though. Great pics!
