This is a beautiful antique rose with a scent that I’m certain has been incorporated into several perfumes over the last century or two. It has a beautiful damask scent that wafts through the garden in the early and late morning hours. Related Reading: Rose Elegance Premium Long Stem Red Roses – One Dozen Red [...]
There’s lots of wide screen television screens in downtown Toronto blasting us with commercials all the time. Occasionally I’ve seen short movies – in the past. I’m not sure if they still do that, but the big screen at Dundas Square, across the street from the Eaton’s Center shows movies through the summer in the [...]

I’m growing a clematis beside one of my roses. In fact it’s near that lovely black hollyhock that I showed you a few days ago. In September I noticed the vine had produced these luscious looking red berries. I never knew that clematis vines produced berries, but I’ve now noticed that a few of my [...]
This is a building across the street from Toronto’s Eaton’s center. I guess it’s the towers over the Atrium. I love the glass and how it reflect images of the city around it. Yes, this is a Black Hollyhock. Isn’t it’s dark glossy petals beautiful? I grow this dark horse of a hollyhock between my lovely Compte de Chambord antique roses, Japanese Maple and the raspberries so it’s surrounded by shades of red and pink. It looks quite lovely among it’s companions. Related Reading: 9GreenBox – Live Spiral [...]

Even in Mid October my Raspberries are still growing and ripening here in Toronto. I’m sure I won’t have raspberries for much longer as it will soon get quite cool here. Still, it’s a joy to be able to walk into the garden and pick fresh fruit for dessert. Related Reading: Del Monte Quality 16 [...]

Even though the Blue Jays haven’t done well for years the attendance at the games is alway decent. Nothing like Toronto sports fans. Toronto Skydome/ Rogers Center – August 2007 [...]
I’ve come to think of the Morning Glory Vine as a weed in my garden as it does much too well reseeding itself hundreds of times over. Yet, it’s flowers are lovely. Morning Glory flowers bloom in the early morning hours and gradually close up and die off by late day. This flower is in [...]

If I were ever to have enough money (1 million plus) to purchase a home in Toronto’s very expensive The Beach area, this would be one of the homes that I’d aspire to live in. It’s colorful, large and has not one, but two wrap around balcony/verandas. This house faces one of the most popular [...]
