These are French Marigolds. I grow them around the border of my planted boulevard garden.

As you can see I also have a short bamboo fence in my little garden. It helps separate the planted area from the sidewalk. The short fence is very helpful in the spring as it lets people know that they shouldn’t walk in that area. This of course is before barely any plants have come up or when they are still quite small. I just hate having my plants trampled by people who seems to prefer to walk on the grass rather than the sidewalk!

I love how my fingers smell after I dead-head marigolds. Some people think they stink. But, not me!

French marigolds are possibly the most beautiful flower in the world. Its the colour that I love, the blend of orange and yellow is gorgeous. I would love to try growing my own but I am not very green fingered!
