About a month ago I came upon this huge bumble bee just sitting within a cluster of tiny phlox flowers. The bee eventually moved around and collected some pollen from the flowers, but for the most part it seems quite content sitting between all of the petals. Perhaps it was taking a rest from it’s busy day.

What a great picture you have taken. I used to do photography myself, but its stopped since college, as i no longer have a darkroom. Its my birthday soon, so i am hoping to get some photos of nature and plant. I do hava a film camera, but like most people these days i prefer the digital way. I have take so many plant pictures at college, and they were all pretty good. I also need to get a macro lens if i am planning on doing close up work like that.

Cool shot! I’ve been more lucky with honey bees than the bigger ones.

That is awesome, what kind of lens do you have? I’m looking at buying a macro lens myself, what would you recommend?
