Here in Toronto, right by the Don Valley Parkway in Taylor Creek Park there are these huge natural water filtration devices. I’ve always thought that they look a little bit like elephants. My husband was talking with one of our neighbors earlier today and someone they started talking about these filters. He calls them the [...]

This is one of the old main buildings at Toronto’s Brick Works. The factory is no longer operational and the quarry where all the clay was dug out to make the bricks has been turned into ponds, marshes and hiking trails that highlight native plants of Ontario and this general area. The Brick Works is [...]

This is a shot of the sign for The Venetian Hotel. This hotel houses the Tao nightclub where we had our Bl0ggers Choice awards, Madame Tousades and a number of other great restaurants, shows and features. The building is huge! At the base of this building, right below TAO there’s a huge body of water [...]

This was an advertisement for the Phantom of the Opera outside the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Being from Toronto and having worked downtown forever I’m quite used to the Phantom logs since it played in Toronto at the Pantegenes (now the Canon Theatre) for about a decade! I’m back from Vegas! Most of the photos I (or my husband who stole my camera) took in Vegas are of the fellow bloggers that we got together with. Since I don’t normally post photos of people on this site I’m not sure they’re all that appropriate. I do have some cool shots though so [...]

Yonge Street, Downtown Toronto. I love the look of Yonge street in downtown Toronto. Most of the businesses, banks and shops have been created inside old buildings that are often quite old. I think it gives downtown Toronto quite a unique look. Related Reading: A text-book of the history of architecture Just Ambulance Photos! Big [...]

I took this photo at the end of August while on a dinner boat cruise on Lake Ontario. Obviously the sun was setting and the scene was lit in the warm glow of the fading rays of the sun. So beautiful. I love Toronto. Today, I’ll be flying directly over the CN Tower and Rogers [...]

We Will Rock You was playing at the Canon Theater over the summer and outside the theatre above the marquee there was a huge statue of Freddy Mercury. This of course is a photo of that statue. Freddy Mercury always was bigger than life. Related Reading: Just Ambulance Photos! Big Book of Photographs & Pictures [...]

I love the look of this Hard Rock Cafe at Dundas Square. A long time ago when I was a jeweler I used to work in the building just down the street from it, so I’m very familiar with the inside and outside of this local landmark. Don’t miss a single post from this site [...]

I’m not big on advertising, but I like some of the animated or moving advertisements in downtown Toronto. I love the caption on this sign. There’s lots of wide screen television screens in downtown Toronto blasting us with commercials all the time. Occasionally I’ve seen short movies – in the past. I’m not sure if they still do that, but the big screen at Dundas Square, across the street from the Eaton’s Center shows movies through the summer in the [...]

This is a building across the street from Toronto’s Eaton’s center. I guess it’s the towers over the Atrium. I love the glass and how it reflect images of the city around it. If I were ever to have enough money (1 million plus) to purchase a home in Toronto’s very expensive The Beach area, this would be one of the homes that I’d aspire to live in. It’s colorful, large and has not one, but two wrap around balcony/verandas. This house faces one of the most popular [...]
