A forest field in Autumn

I think I’m avoiding winter. Notice that I haven’t posted one winter related photo … all the recent photos have been autumn related? It’s not like you can ignore a season like winter – not with all the snow we’ve had, but I’m doing my best, at least on this blog!

Again, this is a photograph of a local park that we take our dog to so that she can burn off some of that extra energy she has. She loves it and so do we, I mean, look how pretty it is, even in autumn?

Ok, I’ll try to take some winter photos … won’t be pretty though, especially since we’ve had a “warm” spell and the snows melting and everything is puddles and mud! But I’ll try.

The Toronto Skyline

I took this photo of the Toronto Skyline about a year ago while on a Toronto Dinner boat cruise. The sun was just starting to set behind the CN Tower and it was a beautiful sight.

As you can probably tell I applied a sepia effect to the photograph. I also experimented with some of the photos of the skyline in Black and white as well, but I think I like the sepia effect best, next to the natural full color shot of course.

Peony – what kind of name is that for a lovely flower

This beautiful peony is called Karl Rosenfield. Normally this peony is quite a deep red, but as the bloom ages it takes on a deep rose hue and the petals spread out and open the flower up.

It’s quite lovely and it’s quite large! This peony is approximately five to six inches in diameter. Now imagine a clump of them with 30 to 50 blooms! Spectacular!

Happy Canada Day!

Variegated tulip bud

This tulip has variegated (white and green) buds and leaves. I believe this tulip is the Canada Tulip. It’s bloomed now and the flowers are red and white.

It’s quite a pretty plant both in bud and in bloom.

Do you have an tulips that have variegated leaves or buds?
