One thing I’ve been noticing lately is that the various backlink checkers report a decrease in my backlinks. I’m not sure how accurate these sites are, but the decrease might indicate that old links have been removed or deactivated by whoever linked to me in the first place.

In other words, it’s important to keep adding your site to as many directories and so forth as possible to make sure you’ve got a steady stream of fresh links coming back to you!
