First question: Where are the new owners of what used to be a very good blog traffic exchange? The new owner(s) hasn’t introduced him or herself yet to all of the members.
Next- What’s going on with thumbnail pictures of our blogs? I have four blogs running on Bl0gexplosion and only two of them have thumbnails right now. I stupidly decided that I wanted to change the thumbnail for Breath of life, oh, about THREE weeks ago. I’ve submitted my request twice and it still hasn’t been changed.
Might I suggest that when a person requests a new thumbnail, that the current thumbnail is not removed until the new one is ready to replace it. Wouldn’t that be so much better than staring at a blank white thumbnail that gives a viewer no idea of what the blog is about?
The other site of mine that doesn’t have a thumbnail is Odd Planet. You see, I recently moved Odd Planet from Bl0gexplosions blog hosting site Bl0gcharm to my own domain. I did this for a few reasons. 1. so I could have more control over my posts such as setting up automated posts. 2. So that my visitors could actually comment easily. The bl0gcharm comment system is terrible.
My third reason for moving Odd Planet from bl0gcharm to my own domain is a big one. When bl0gcharm started up it offered a small incentive – bloggers could make some money by having their blogs on bl0gcharm. That sounded interesting so I decided to create a blog there in early February and that’s when Odd Planet was born. It took me until early July to make $10 on bl0gcharm. $10 is the minimum amount of money that they will pay out to your paypal account. I requested my payout and it said pending. Alright, I can wait a day or two.
Nearly two months have gone by since I made my first request for a Bl0gcharm payout. I’ve sent in two support tickets about my problem and they haven’t been answered. Not a peep. I just sent in a third support ticket about this issue and I also sent one in about the lengthy wait for thumbnails.
Has anybody else noticed that their sites aren’t getting as many views as they used to on Bl0gexplosion? I’m pretty sure that my sites used to get at least 25 hits a day, but lately the highest amount is perhaps 12 hits each and often less than that. What’s up with that?
I’m not trying to run down Bl0gexplosion. It’s a good service and I’ve met a lot of great people and gained several regular visitors through them, but it’s hit a lot of bumps in the road lately and I’d love to know how the new owner is planning on addressing those problems.
Has anyone else run into problems with Bl0gexplosion lately? Have you had any response from the support team at all?

I wish I knew blogexplosion when it was really good. I agree that whatever is going on, they are lacking. I’m addicted to the battle of the blogs thing though… they have that and it’s what keeps everyone going there above other sites.
Blogmad… *sigh* That ratio thing just pisses me off. I don’t know if I missed some kind of setting where I can stop my credits from being used so quickly or what. As you know … I had a few hundred credits at one point and even though I was surfing, they were gone within a week.
I honestly have no idea how people get tens of THOUSANDS of credits on there. I have tried surfing from one end of the day to the next and I -still- wake up the next morning to -0.5 credits. I’m going to dump that site soon. Especially since they have no decent games to make credits on like BE.
Blogsoldiers is good, they have only 20 second waiting time and I like the symbols rather than numbers. It’s much clearer..
Haven’t tried the other ones yet.

I also have the same problem.
I’ve also had problems with surfing since the new owner took over. The pages are slow to load, or would just freeze. Never had that problem before.
By the way, I’ve passed by your site plenty of times. Just love it!

Well, I’ve tested all these ones and I must say that I preferred Blogadvance most of them all. OK, they could maybe spice up the design a bit more, but I really get hits from them AND it’s a very friendly and nice atmosphere there, more than I found on the others.

It’s certainly disappointing to see how BE has fallen. I’ve also been waiting weeks for my new thumbnail.

I’ve left BE completely. I’ve had a request for a new thumbnail up for like 2 months and still have not gotten it over there. They can kiss my rear end!!! I’m using BlogMad. ๐

Hey, I did a post about traffic sites today too. Great minds think alike!
I have been waiting for a new thumbnail since my new site went live. So, for several weeks anyway. And support is awful. I had a battle get hung up on -1 for DAYS despite repeated emails and support tickets being sent by both me and my opponent.
It’s the battles that keep me coming back more than anything.
I think we get fewer views from BE because with all the other sites out there with either better ratios or quicker times, not as many people are surfing BE anymore.

It’s definitely sad to see the way BlogExplosion is being running these days. I requested a new thumbnail and they gave me the same old one back. My blog hasn’t looked like that in months.
Plus sending a support ticket is a waste of time. I haven’t heard a response from them either. I think the end may be coming near for BlogExplosion.

Yeah BE isn’t too shabby nowadays….

I wonder if anyone is actually running BE anymore….
I sometimes think it’s just been left to twist in the wind, and the only thing that keeps it going at all is that people still go there.
I battle- when you can click on things and actually get somewhere. but, most of the time, you click to get there and you wait. And wait. And then click away to visit some other site.
I surf on blogmad when I can. Lately, I’ve been using Blogazoo and Blog Soldiers more and more. The new owner of BlogSoldiers actually introduced himself and ran some contests straight out of the box…. (I got 9th in referrals)… That’s pretty cool.
I would use Blog Advance, but every time i click on manual surf, my browser closes. I gave up.

I used to use BE when it was a really good service! They were awesome, I got tons of hits, and could surf for hours, get mystery credits, and hardlly visit the same blog twice. It was really great.
Now it’s crap, I can hardly get 10 hits a day, if I surf for hours I’m likely to see the same blog over and over, and don’t even get me started with the whole mystery credit thing! ๐
Now, I’ve been waiting for a thumbnail for my blog for more than a month. I’ve stopped even checking for it regularly. I’ve put in a support ticket, and nothing! They should at least answer the support tickets, as a matter of principle. Customer service is horrible now. I’d be happy if they’d just get me a damn thumbnail! ๐ I can deal with everything else.
So, now I use Blogmad when I want to get hits.

Hello!
I just took a thumbnail for your site. (Or at least the program did, so I thought I’d let you know). It’ll be uploaded in a couple of hours.
And, to answer guppy’s question…I’m the one running BE these days.
Thanks for all of your feedback. But, stick around, once we get our site moved to some more powerful servers things are gonna start to rock again. We’ve just hit a problem with having too many users! Talk about a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. ๐

It’s 6 years later and BE is obviously cactus. The BE stands for BElly up!
Do you know of any other decent blog exchange/traffic networks that are similar?
What do you use these days?
