1…. People who tell me what I can or can’t write … 2…. In the past week I’ve been told no less than three times that something I’ve written or posted shouldn’t be posted. Most of these things have happened on my Gardening blog of all places. 3…. One person told me why I shouldn’t do any posts for Loudlaunch, and gave me a long description of his problem with them. 4…. Another person blasted me on As the Garden Grows for saying that Toronto’s been warmer than normal in the last two months. Going so far as to tell me how wrong I was and calling me a stupid idiot. Right. I’ll take your words to heart and change my ways especially since you’ve gone so far as to insult my intelligence. Yeah sure. 5…. Then yesterday I was told that the snowman photo that I posted on my gardening blog might be offensive to some people. 6…. I didn’t really think of that photo as being offensive when I posted it. If anything I thought perhaps people might take more offense at the Wordless Wednesday Photo that I posted on this site because it deals with obesity and anorexia. 7…. People that have been reading my sites for a while, and people that actually know me – know that I go out of my way trying not to offend people or hurt others feelings. I do that because it’s my own feelings that often end up getting hurt far more often than most others. Plus, If I really tried to not write anything that would offend anyone I’d have to stop writing and posting pictures completely because just about everything has the possibility of offending someone somewhere. 8…. Bad drivers – people who change lanes or turn without signaling, cut you off, can’t park … you name it, bad drivers make me mad. 9…. People who park in front of my driveway – blocking it. It’s bad enough when it’s my elderly neighbors kids. At least they’re only there for 30 minutes or so and I know where to go to ask them to move, but when it’s strangers? Idiots! 10…. Packages that I can’t open. Have you ever bought something – maybe something small like a package of batteries or an accessory for your cell phone and you notice that the package is three times the size of what’s inside and coated in plastic that you can’t tear with your bare hands? You have to go and find your scissors in order to open it and sometimes the plastic is so thick that even your scissors have trouble cutting it open? Yeah, it’s those kinds of packages that make me mad. 11…. My neighbors and their loud Karaoke. Yes they are still at it and the singing hasn’t improved. Gag me! 12…. Websites with autoplay videos or music. Especially if I can’t find how to turn it off easily. Nothing like visiting a site and getting blasted with music. 13…. As I pointed out in yesterdays Wordless Wednesday I’m not using Mr. Linky anymore because people who take the time to visit my site and leave a link could also take the time to leave a short comment. Leaving a link and running off to the next site is rude. |

It’s you’re blog only you can determine what should or shouldn’t be posted.

Oooooh…I’m with you on #1 and #12!! I always have my computer speakers on mute so I don’t get “surprised” by a song that clashes with what I’m listening to on my stereo.
My TT’s up….Thirteen Albums from the 80s I have hanging on my wall.

People can be so rude, sometimes. It’s like they think they are the most important person in the world. Don’t take it too personally. They probably say those things to you to make themselves feel better. Just silently hex them and go on with your life!
Susan says
Tricia how many times to I have to tell you to stop posting those radical gardening entries!!!!!!!??????? This is a great TT – I’m tempted to do the same but I can’t imagine how I’d narrow it to only 13!! 🙂

Good grief- the person who was offended by the snowman pic needs to re-evaluate what they do for a living. It’s like that caveman dude in the Geico commercials. My TT is up- it will probably offend people, but hey, it’s my blog dang it! If you don’t like what someone posts- guess what people? There is this little x at the top of your browser. This x closes the browser completely. Then again, you can always hit the back button, the home button, or type in another URL. Get over it. I support Trish!

Tricia, I just posted something at my blog about your commenters that I think we all could learn from.

I post stuff that can be seen as offensive to some but hey if they don’t like it then they don’t need to come back. It’s your blog and you have the right to post whatever your little heart desires….btw i love the snowman LOL

Hey Tricia – good that you can let it all out 🙂 I hope you feel better now. I think you should put your snowman post on digg – you’ll get a ton of hits and controversy – and more readers! Don’t let the commenters get you down – use them to your advantage 🙂 I hope you stopped by KT Cat’s nice post!

I love these people who somehow think that YOUR blog is written Specifically for THEM. If they don’t like it, click away…
No.3 was about the PS3 post I’m guessing? He spammed a lot of people, don’t worry. And your snowman picture is excellent.
In an effort to address theses opinionated rear-ends, I’ve added an ‘about my blog page’ to the top left hand corner which sets out my ‘blogging policy’. Anyone complains, they’ll get referred to it. Anyone gets abusive, they’ll get banned – I love WordPress 🙂

What any of us says or does, whether nice or not so nice, is a side effect of how we view the world. Someone who says a mean thing is showing you how they interact with most everyone in their world. I’ve only discovered this blog this week and in my two visits it is easy see that you’re a considerate writer/person. That’s both my outlook and your outlook talkin’. Keep it up!

i get irritated with autoloading music and video too. especially when they freeze my browser until they finish loading or even force the browser to close.
and if you can’t write about what you want to on your blog where can you?
my TT was about what The Sound of Music meant to my liife.

There are very few things worse than having your driveway blocked. I totally get what you’re saying..
