Many of you know that I have Crohn’s and that I’ve had a particularly hard time dealing with the pain it’s caused me lately, in part because the pain has increased dramatically, and the other symptoms that go along with it. One of the other symptoms that bothers me on occasion is Acid Reflux. I’ve been taking prescription medications to control that symptom/ side effect for some time now.
I don’t know if my acid reflux is caused by my Crohn’s or if it’s just another ailment that I’ve picked up along the way as I get older. Oh the joys of maturing! LOL Anyway, I do know that I’m not the only person to ever suffer from Acid reflux so I thought I’d tell you about a site that I just visited that discusses the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn.
Many women during Pregnancy get what is called Pregnancy Heartburn. If you’d like to read more about the symptoms of this specific type of heart burn please visit the Acid Reflux site.
The website also discusses GERD which is a more serious form of acid reflux caused often, by having chronic acid reflux. Visit the site to learn more about the symptoms of Gerd if you have bad heart burn, or acid reflux that causes pain in your neck, or the feeling that acid is coming back up into your throat when you bend or lie down.
If you’ve only just begun to experience the symptoms of acid reflux you might be interested in reading their page on the causes of indigestion as some of the information on that page may help you lessen the frequency of your symptoms.
I think this would be a great site for anyone suffering from Acid reflux or heartburn to start. Then you can possibly talk with your doctor about ways of relieving the symptoms if this is beginning to become a reoccurring problem.

Thanks for sharing those great resources on Acid Reflux. I started having symptoms recently, so I found your website very helpful in self-diagnosing my acid reflux. Unfortunately I don’t have health insurance, so going to a doctor would be costly.
What prescription are you taking for yours?

For temporary treatment for acid reflux, you can use vinegar. It’s pretty much available in any household. And it doesn’t give you side effects.

For the people without health insurance… mylanta, alka seltzer and prilosec (OTC medication) will work wonders.

Heartburn and acid reflux has been a particular problem of mine too. I like what you said about chronic acid reflux related to crones disease and glad to see there is relief.
