Thanks for your support!
I’ve had a number of people leave positive comments on this site and on my gardening blog regarding the problems I discussed in my Thursday Thirteen.
I’ve had a terrible week with my pain. Actually I suppose you could say I’ve had a terrible year so far, and people commenting on my posts and tell me that they could be offensive or calling me an idiot just got to me. Normally this kind of stuff really wouldn’t bother me all that much, but when combined with how lousy I’m feeling, and the pain I’m in it just really brought me down.
I actually considered just trashing me sites and forgetting about blogging all together.
None of the people that have left distasteful comments in the past week have been regular readers.
Believe me, if one of my regular readers told me that something I posted was offensive I’d be more likely to believe them and it’s also likely that they, knowing me and having read my site would possibly have an idea of my character and what kind of person and I am, would not likely tell me such a thing in a way that would be nasty. It would likely come out as constructive criticism.
Either way, these are my sites. I’m going to write what I want, post what I want and do as I please. I want my regular readers to stay with me and read my posts so it’s not likely that there will be any major change in my posting style. I’m sure my regular readers know that I would never knowingly or purposely post something that I thought would offend. I’m just not that kind of person and I’m sure you, my regular reader, knows that.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank my friends for their support. It means a lot. Thank you.

I was under the impression (from some of your other posts) that you depend upon your paid posting in order to survive?
Whilst you might have received some negative comments from irregular readers I wouldn’t let it get to you. There will always be some arsehole ready to pass judgement or make comments that aren’t nice. People feel that the Internet gives them licence to say what they like and think without too much consideration for how it might be received.
I think we all have blogging lows – typically when we’re having a low time in other parts of our life. I’ve had a few recently whilst thinking about the stuff going on with my Mum. At the end of the day if you still enjoy your blogging more than you don’t then it’s worth keeping it – but only you can make that decision.

What Rob said.
Don’t forget to add these a-holes to your WP spam filter & then you won’t see them again….

I was very offended by that post about the penguin and the malevolent chipper shredder. I can’t blame the chipper shredder for its actions given the insults spewed by that nasty little penguin, but I just can’t figure out why you insisted on calling the penguin gimpy afterwards. This was so offensive I sneezed, which marks my 2nd (of 4) degrees of offensiveness

Hi Tricia,
I’ve just discovered your site and think I’ll be a constant visitor. You may have lost a few (nasty ones) but their loss is your gain. I’ve just started my own blog so hope I don’t have the same trouble!
I’m a garden designer and writer and live in the UK so it will be fun hearing about gardening in the colder north across the sea.
My url is http://www.lucyannwrites.blogspot.com if you would like to visit it – the latest post is about my garden.
All the best and, as Winston Churchill was fond of saying when up against it, “KBO” (Keep B******** on)
Yours, Lucy

I hope I wasn’t a part of any cause for you being upset with my previous comment. I have just found your blog and it is sparkling with personality, that’s what was attractive about it. It’s fabulous. Have a good weekend.

It’s unbelievable how cruel can be to those who are in constant pain. My girlfriend has Arachnoiditis in the lower spine and has bad burning pain in her leg, and people at work have made comments about how she “can’t handle a little pain” etc. Don’t worry about those trolls online, they hide behind their computers and think they are the sh** cause they don’t have the guts to say something in person. As for the pain, try L-Carnitine and Lipoic Acid for reducing nerve pain. Magnesium too. My girlfriend takes Nexium which has helped her 100%, but it is by prescription.
