I just discovered a newly created wordpress plugin that you are going to love!
Do you reply to comments that people leave on your blog? Do you reply on the blog itself or by email, or sometimes both? I do a little of each. Sometimes I’ll reply to someone by email, but I want others to see my reply so I’ll copy what I’ve written and copy it into the comment area of the post.
How would you like to have a plugin on your site that lets you comment on your blog and send an email off to the commenter at the same time? Sounds fantastic doesn’t it.
If you like the sound of this new plugin click the link above and read more about it on my tech website WebStyle. Yes, believe it or not I do have a tech website … odd how I tend to post a lot of techy geeky stuff there though isn’t it?

I try to reply to a lot of new people that comment. Regulars who have a new post in my Reader will get a visit as well.

THat does sound cool!

that’s a great advice, if you are a WP user. if you’re not you can use coComment.com.They keep track of all comments you’ve left as well.
I had some problems with the add on for FF but overall I like it. It’s an option, becasue it’s hard to keep up where you cemmented and who said what etc ๐

This does sound awesome!
I’m still trying to figure out WordPress enough to upload a plug-in so I can post videos…. it may be a while. I’ll keep an eye on this and if you have any suggestions on uploading plug-ins, I’d be greatful.
Yes, yes, a newbie and it shows!

Yeah, I’ve read about this plugin and was really interested about it but have not taken the time to plug it into my blogs ๐

Fab if you need any help getting it working let me know. It’s pretty easy though so I’m sure you’ll do well.
Tricia says
Charlotte, Yes I love that it includes the post url and that we can add an email footer too. I actually suggested that to Owen and he did it within a day of my suggestion.
I think this plugin is fantastic! … except now I’m behind in answering everyone and I’m putting the plugin to work … so my posts will all have a long line of comments from me as I reply to everyone! LOL Oh well.
Tricia says
Mrs Lifecruiser – you have to get this plugin it’s so you. I know you like to comment inside every single comment you get … well you can’t do that with this plugin as your comment will be listed under the post just like everyone else’s, but now, as you reply to your commenters they’ll also get an email if you choose to send them one.
Give it a try.
Tricia says
Deb, yes, check out the email comment responder plugin. You’ll love it.
Tricia says
Lucia – I haven’t tried the subscribe to comments plugin. Whatever you do, if you use it don’t have it set to automatically subscribe your commenters by default. I personally hate that! I do subscribe to some sites comments if it’s a particularly good post … but not often.

Gardenmomma – Glad to add to your store of knowledge. ๐

Doc Mom I tried one of those plugins for videos and it didn’t do anything more than what I always do when I do it manually. If you want to have videos on your WP site just make sure you are writing your post in plain text mode (you can change it to plain text when you need to in the USER section of your admin panel before you start a post.) Or you can click on the code tab at the top of your writing area when you are creating a post – if you are using WP 2.1+ … but if you save and continue it goes back to visual mode and this messes up script code, which is why I was suggesting that you formally turn off rich text mode in the USER profile section first.
To upload plugins … it’s best to do with an FTP program. You can download a free one like Filezilla. Just set it up to allow access to your sites FTP server – you just have to set it up by filling in your host name which would be something like http://ftp.doctormom.net and then the user name and password that you use when you login to your webhosts c-panel, and make sure that login type is set to normal. save that and whenever you want to get into the backend of your sites you can login through FTP and upload a file directly from your computer to the correct directory in your sites directory. In this case, uploading a plugin you’ll want the wp-content directory, then select the plugin directory from there and upload.
It’s easy once you’ve done it once or twice.

pablopabla – take the time it’s worth it!
Laura says
That sounds great. Do you know if there is one similar Plug in for Blogger / Blogspot?
Lisa says
I already have the plugin. I think its the greatest thing since sliced bread!

Awesome!
That’s extremely helpful!
I’ll give it a try!
