More and more people seem to be turning to surgical methods of weight loss and or weight control. One of the many techniques that people are trying, and having success with is Lapband surgery.
Lapband surgery is a form of gastric bypass surgery. There are a few forms of lap band surgery, but the effect of this procedure is to reduce the capacity of a persons stomach so that they can’t eat as much food at one time. This results in them feeling fuller faster and obviously results in weight loss.
There are some surgeries that actually remove part of a persons stomach in order to reduce the size of the stomach, but I think the most common procedures these days involve attaching a band around the top of the stomach in order to reduce the opening and thus capacity of the stomach. This is called a gastric sleeve or a mini gastric sleeve – depending upon which procedure is decided will work best for a patient.
MyLapbandsurgery.com has quite a bit of information about lapband surgery, and the different types of gastric bypass procedures. I suppose you could say it’s a central resource for information about gastric bypass surgery.
You can read the testimonials of people who have had gastric bypass surgery and then join the forum to talk to others who are considering the procedure, and those who’ve had it done.
Certainly there are many benefits to losing weight. People who are overweight who lose weight at a healthy rate reduce their chance of cardiovascular and respiratory disease, hypertension, stroke, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, joint problems, heart attack and diseases such as diabetes. Weight reduction will also reduce the strain on the back, and likely as a result of the weight loss the person who has reduced their weight will become more active which is another way to help improve ones health.
Having any kind of surgery has both pros and cons to it. I strongly suggest that if you are considering gastric bypass surgery that you attempt to get as much information about the surgery and the expected outcome before deciding if this the method for you.

Huh? I think you’ve misunderstood. I was just telling people about a site that has information about gastric bypass. I wasn’t thinking of doing this procedure.
I have Crohn’s disease and can barely eat. Believe me, I’d be better off gaining weight than losing it! LOL
Hopefully this information does help someone else though.
Thanks for your visit. Marrakech eh? Nice. 🙂

Good advice, that last paragraph. I’ve heard so much bad about those surgerys, so I guess it’s a matter of taking a risk and decide if it’s worth it or not. I think one should be in rather bad need of it to do it, butt at the same time you have to be in good shape for the body to cope with surgery’s…. Not an easy choice to do!!!
I’m like you sometimes and find it tough just to make sure to get everything my body needs. Phew! hard work that too!

Surgery is an extreme way of dealing with weight. Healthwise, it’s good for very overweight people.
