As I mentioned in an earlier post I haven’t been feeling very well over the last week, and especially through the weekend.
So what have I been doing? Well .. I have been working a very little bit behind the scenes on our sites, but mostly I was lying on the couch trying to feel better.
Since there isn’t much on TV now that most of the shows have had their season finale I’ve been paying more attention to what’s on the movie network. We’ve been paying extra to have the movie networks as part of our cable package for years, but I must admit we really can’t justify the expense as we don’t tend to watch movies very often.
That’s about to change.
On Saturday we ended up watching a movie that I think I taped Friday evening on the DVR.
The movie was Crank, a 2006 action/thriller film, written and directed by both Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. The Lions Gate Films-produced film stars Jason Statham, Amy Smart, Efren Ramirez, and Dwight Yoakam.
Chris and I both loved this film.
This action filled movie got my adrenaline pumping:
After Chev Chelios, a hit man, completed a job, he wakes up hallucinating, finding himself extremely uncomfortable. He plays a DVD message from a rival hit man who reveals that Chev has been injected with a mysterious poison known as the “Beijing Cocktail” and he has only an hour to live. Chev soon realizes that the poison can only be slowed by his own adrenaline. With what little time Chev has left alive, he plans to get his revenge on the people who injected him with the poison. He must fight and race all throughout Los Angeles to say goodbye to his girlfriend, Eve, while keeping his adrenaline pumping. He will face-off against his employers at every turn as he searches for an antidote to save his life.
I really wasn’t all that sure in the beginning if I’d like it or not. The hallucinating, out of it scenes in the beginning made me feel that I wouldn’t enjoy this movie but I was totally wrong. I loved it. As you watch the movie you just get hooked, and by the end you almost don’t want it to end.
I rarely say this, but I could have watched this movie again right after the first viewing ended.
I don’t know if this film is still showing on the movie channels this month, but I do believe that it’s out on DVD, so if you’re looking for a good movie to watch look for Crank.
