Bumble Bee feeding station

This weeks theme is Two

bumblebeesedum5

I took this photo last year when I noticed that there were lots of bumble bees visiting some sedum flowers that had just started to bloom.

I swear the plant must have had twenty bumble bees visiting at once. It was like a bumble bee flea market or something.

I’m actually allergic to bees, but I’m not really afraid of bumble bees.

They are very gentle creatures and are very unlikely to bother you unless you lean on one or sit one one. Wasps and hornets on the other hand … don’t make them mad!

This is such an incredibly beautiful photo Tricia. I really love it. I also have no problem with Bumble Bees.

I’ve done “Two… Two…. Two weeks in one!” Yes, Two in a Row! Worth coming to see, :o)

Something odd is happing here…. when I post it works and I see my post there… when my dog Reba posts it’s not there. I’d think it moderated but mine wasn’t. Not sure what’s happening, but you can visit Reba’s first Photo Hunters post at http://rebasrun.blogspot.com and see her Twos too.

Beautiful photograph! Sometimes my desire to capture a good photo overrides my fear of being stung, too! If you have time, I’d love for you to visit Pollywog Creek and have a great weekend!

Very well captured Tricia! Remember wasps are okay if you leave them alone. We have a lot of them in Norway too and eating jam outdoors can sometimes be a challenge:-)

That’s a great photo! I’m allergic to bee stings as well, but I am completely fascinated by them. When my kids were small I would catch them so they could see the pollen on their legs and then release them.
My mom thought I was crazy, but I never got stung. My epi-pen was at the ready. If you have a gentle touch, they will even crawl around near you with no intention of stinging.
I don’t take any chances, mind you…but it was fun for the kids to see them doing their job.

I have this deep-seeded fear of bumble bees. Ever since I was maybe 8 years old and sat on one in my great-grandmother’s back yard and had to go to the hospital due to a severe bees allergy. So since then, I’m hardly even outside in the summertime.

Your flower is beautiful and the bees are at a nice angle to draw ones eyes towards them also. Wonderful entry for this theme.

    Come see mine.

I wonder what that flower is called?
