I’m having terrible luck these days.
I feel like I’ve been getting sicker and sicker with my Crohn’s disease over the last few weeks. Then last week I had flu like symptoms that hung on until Saturday or so and then as if that wasn’t bad enough I woke up with a terrible migraine on Sunday.
My headache was so bad that I lay on the couch most of the day and evening and took far too many Tylenol. Late in the evening I tried putting a heating pad on my neck and shoulders and it helped a bit but not enough.
Finally Chris offered to massage my neck and shoulders so I sat on the floor in front of him while he kneaded my neck, shoulders and back. Every time he tried to massage with a bit of force it hurt really bad. I know he wasn’t massaging hard at all but it left my whole upper back and lower neck feeling bruised! In fact the area still has a tender bruised feeling and it’s more than 48 hours later!
Oh and I still have a headache! Not as bad as on Sunday, but it’s still there.
I wish all these aches, pains and symptoms would just go away. Even if they’d only disappear for a day I’d be happy.

That’s awful! I don’t have Crohns, but I have a lot of trouble with migraines and sciatica. My doctor prescribed an antidepressant awhile back to help with perimenopause, but it had the unexpected benefit of getting rid of my sciatica and muscle pain and my migraines got a lot better too. Don’t know if it would help with your pain, but the pill is called symbalta, cimbalta, one of those. It hasn’t helped much with the menopause though, but at least I can roll over in bed now and climb stairs without my back going into spasm. Hope you feel better soon! Jo

I’ve have a few friends and colleagues with Crohn’s disease. It’s a very debilitating disease. I really don’t envy you at all. I’m sure I join the rest of the readers in wishing you the best.
I went to Mexico with one of my friends who suffered from Crohn’s, and it was almost ludicrous how much he could NOT eat. Essentially everything that was safe to eat from a hygiene perspective was going to trigger an episode. Eventually we just had to laugh.
