This is a photo of a fading Morning Glory. I took this photo last Sunday in the late afternoon.
Morning glory vines are very vigorous. I’ve spent many years pulling tiny plants out of my back flower bed but each year some come up. This one escaped me until it grew enough to bloom.
The morning glory’s vine flowers bloom in the early morning – often at first light and by the time that the sun is full, perhaps 10 am or so, the flowers begin to die down and close. Each flower only lasts one day.
As I said I captured this one in the late afternoon as it was dying. It was still a beauty.

Morning glory is one of my favorites! I usually plant some each year, however, this year I missed out. I was too busy planting a garden instead! Great picture!

You are right, morning glories are beautiful even when they are fading.

I love flowers. Each stage is like a different side of it’s beauty. I end up keeping my arrangements wayyyy past the bloom and always hate trimming my growing flowers… even the expired.

Cool picture, do these comeback or do they die for good?

This is one of the prettiest flowers I’ve ever seen. Does it smell as good as it looks?

That’s beautiful! Some said that things look their prettiest when they are dying.
