Should I go shopping while in Vegas?

October 19, 2007 by Tricia

I can’t believe it’s the nineteenth of October already! Our trip to Las Vegas is coming up fast! Two and a half weeks from now we’ll be in that busy city! Good thing our passports arrived yesterday huh?

I know I’m going to be at blogging conventions and I probably won’t have a lot of time to do much other than attend the conventions and perhaps some of the places along the strip where we are staying, but if I can I’d like to do a little shopping.

With our Canadian dollar being higher than the US dollar I might be able to find some fantastic deals.

When I was searching for a hotel for us to stay in I noticed that only about 10 miles away from the strip there’s a big outlet mall. I wonder if any other bloggers that are going to the convention might be interested in a shopping excursion?

I need new clothes! Plus maybe I can get a few Christmas gifts out of the way too? Chris has always liked playing golf, perhaps I could find some Mizuno golf clubs for him at a discount? I’m also still looking for a macro and a telescopic lens for my SLR camera and I’m pretty sure that they are cheaper in the US than they are here in Canada … yeah, maybe I’ll come back with some new toys!

Where is this outlet mall? I’m planning a quick trip to Vegas in December and outlet shopping might need to be added to my itinerary.

just beware about buying stuff from vendors on the streets… most of the time they are selling illegal or fake items. i remember going there on time on a road trip with some of my friends and we saw this dude on the street selling oakleys for farily cheap. i happened to need a pair and oakley is my favorite brand, so i bought me a pair. 2 seceonds after he grabbed the money from my hand came 2 cops on bicicles, chasing the vendor down. he jumped one of the divides and ran across an intersection, seeming to elude the police. anyhow, they broke 2 weeks later, and i got scammed.

Hi, I just found your site. I live in Vegas, so let me know if you have any questions about the shopping here. There are two outlet malls in Vegas, and a third one is about 30 minutes away by car. The biggest mall here is the Fashion Show Mall, which is actually on the strip. I’m going to the blog conventions too.

I absolutely LOVE Vegas and they really do have some great shopping there. You can find some really great deals if you veer away from the strip. The outlet mall that you are talking about is absolutely great for finding deals so I would highly recommend it. Now, I know this comment is past the time of your trip, but I thought that I would still put in my two sense in order to give advice to anyone who may be reading this blog after this comment :).
