I didn’t say anything about this, but a few weeks ago when I saw one of my doctors they finally decided to try me on prednisone for my Crohns.
So far it doesn’t seem to have helped my symptoms or my pain. What it has done though it make me puffy! Geez …I’m traveling out of the country in two weeks. Everyone wants to look their best while on vacation and here I am starting to look like a puff ball thanks to my medication! I almost feel like going out and buying some diet pills. I won’t – but it’s frustrating!
When I feel up to it I get on the elliptical machine we bought a couple of weeks ago. I still haven’t used it enough to build up much endurance though. It’s really hard when you don’t feel well all the time! I certainly hope the steroids begin to work the way they should as I’d love to feel a little bit better!

My mother has Crohns and she is on the same meds. She often switches to a liquid diet for a few days to cleanse out her system and she often says that makes her fee better. I am sorry that you have to deal with that – I see what my mother goes through and it’s definitely not something nice to deal with.

Just be careful with prolonged use of prednisone. My mil used it for more than a year, which we found out later is not good at all. Hope you will feel better real soon.

My sister was on prednisone off and on throughout childhood. I remember the puffiness very well.
If it doesn’t start helping with the pain, I’d have the doctor try something else. It’s not worth feeling like a marshmallow if you’re not even getting pain relief.
