We’re back from Las Vegas!
I’m so tired! Our flight landed just before 11 pm, but it took a while to get through customs and then they didn’t put the baggage from our flight on out for pick up for a very long time so I don’t think we started to head home until at least midnight!
Now that I’m home I’ve spent the last couple of hours checking my email and so on. It’s nice to finally have a proper internet connection again. I’m so mad that I wasn’t able to get online while I was in Vegas. The Imperial Palace really has serious network problems!
I have lots to tell you about Blogworld. P0stiecon, the TAO nightclub that we went to on Saturday night for the Bl0ggers Choice awards and meeting a lot of bloggers that I’ve come to know online over the last couple of years. Some time later today after I’ve had a rest I’ll start to tell you about all the cool companies and software that I learned about at the blogging conventions and some of the fun stuff I did in Vegas.
As I already mentioned in the one post that I was able to make while I was away, I was very sick while I was in Las Vegas. I really shouldn’t have gone on this trip. I didn’t get much sleep before I left on Thursday morning and partied way too hard on Thursday night. I think being very sick for two weeks prior to going and then my all out Thursday on virtually no sleep did me in.
When I first woke up on Friday morning I thought I was just hung over, but as the day progressed I didn’t get any better. In fact I got worse. I couldn’t eat. I had one meal late Thursday night that, thanks to my crohns, went through me far too quickly and then I couldn’t manage to get any food into myself again until Saturday morning and I didn’t eat much that day at all.
On Friday evening we were supposed to go to the Belagio to meet up with several bloggers. I’d manage to perk up enough to go to Blogworld for a short two hours on Friday and then went back to the hotel to sleep for a bit before going out that night. I just couldn’t do it though. My husband tried to wake me and had trouble and when I did finally start to wake up he said I looked so bad he seriously thought about taking me to a hospital. We ended up staying in on Friday evening and I really tried to eat but I just picked at the room service food that we ordered.
On Saturday morning I was supposed to be part of the Fab5 panel at P0stiecon. Other than meeting fellow bloggers and attending P0stiecon and Blogworld, one of the main reasons I went to Vegas was to be part of that panel. Unfortunately I was still too ill in the morning to make it there. I felt really bad about letting everyone that had worked so hard to organize P0stiecon and particularly the Fab5 discussion down. Ben from The Benspark was a real trooper. They apparently asked him to step in my place in the discussion and I hear he did a really good job. Thanks Ben!
As I said in my last post I did manage to make it to P0stieCon in the afternoon and I really enjoyed the discussions that I got to see. I’ll tell you about that later today.
So I guess you can say that my trip to Las Vegas could have been a lot better than it was, but there were some great highlights. I learned a lot, met some really great people and I also enjoyed being in Vegas and going out to some of the clubs and bars.

I’m so sorry you had such a hard time in Vegas, and missed important events, however as you say, you still had a great time and met great people so, I hope you get better soon and I’ll be waiting to read your posts about PostieCon.

I was hoping you wouldn’t get sick! Take a breather for a few days and give your body a chance to rest!

Sorry your illness dampened it a little for you.
Shelli says
Sounds like you had a good time in spite of your illness. I’m sorry that it had to rear it’s ugly head.

I had no idea what all you went through! I knew you were sick but didn’t know the details. I’m so sorry. I missed you on the panel. I am glad I got to meet you. I only wish I could have talked to you more. It was hard to talk above the noise. I hope you get some rest now.

Hey Tricia,
I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well, but I’m not sorry we partied so hard!!! It was so wonderful meeting you and Chris – he is one FUN guy – can’t wait to see all your photos. Well, I guess I don’t want to see all 2549 – but the good ones for sure!
Crystal is going to contact you both once I give her your blog url’s. She’s anxiously awaiting the pictures of the security guard escorting herl OUT of the casino!
Take care!
Crystal says
Hey Tricia!
It was great meeting you & Chris in Vegas ๐ Hopefully we can all do it again next year!
Take Care,
Crystal

Hi! Just to let you know that your homepage margins don’t seem fit into 1 screen. At the beginning, I only can see the left and right side bars. For the main body (middle) column, I have to scroll all the way down, after the side bars end, then only can see the content. I am using IE6.
All other pages (like this post) are fine…

Yes I think I knew it was a little messed up in IE6 but it looks pretty much ok in IE7 … I’ll be changing my theme soon anyway so I’m not going to worry too much about it. Of course I’ve been saying I’m going to change my theme for about 6 months …. LOL

Crystal it was great to meet you and Heather in Vegas too! We had a blast didn’t we? ๐ I’ve got a brother and a few friends in the Vancouver area so maybe we’ll get ourselves out to BC sometime over the next year and see you guys.
It seems that Chris’ fear of flying has calmed down quite a bit so that gives us a bit more freedom to travel. Of course the next time I go anywhere I’d better be healthy before we leave!
Tricia says
Heather I think Crystal got to see some photos by now. I kept them at their max size so hopefully the email addy can handle some large files! (like 2 or 3 meg each photo!) Of course I can edit them to make them smaller if needed. Usually I’m the one behind the camera – Chris kind of just went with it …
We had a lot of fun meeting you and Crystal! Maybe we’ll visit BC soon and meet up again?
Tricia says
Thanks N.C. I’ll be writing more about all the things we did and learned soon!

Marty it was a crazy time. I’m sorry I wasn’t feeling very well while I was there but I tried to make the best of things and managed to have some fun meeting all the crazy characters that we’ve come to know mostly through the forums. Everyone was really nice and well worth meeting!
Tricia says
Karen I’m glad we did meet briefly at TAO. I had wanted to talk to you and get to know you a bit better, but I guess that will have to wait until another big blogger get together huh?
I actually had a bowel obstruction and was in the hospital a few days before we left. Looking back I shouldn’t have gone at all! I’m glad I did go though – it was fun to meet everyone. I just wish I’d been healthier so I could have been at blogworld more than two hours and of course not missed a minute of Postiecon or the panel that we were supposed to have been on together.
Tricia says
Thanks Shelli. It was a great time and it was so much fun meeting Mr. Fab. When we met it was just as if we’d already met in person before. He and my husband Chris really got along well. They were hamming it up every time they got together. I felt like telling them to get a room!
Maybe you and I will meet up at some blogging event in the future? ๐
Tricia says
Thanks Jean Luc I’m feeling a little better today and hopefully that will continue. I still had a pretty good time if I totally wipe out memories of Friday! LOL
Tricia says
Laura hopefully I’ll have a few postiecon posts today and tomorrow. I’m a little better today. I do have some funny pics up from last Thursday when I meet up with a number of bloggers if you want to come back and take a look at my Wordless Wednesday post.

Home is the place where we can take rest. I like to be relaxed after getting pressure from my work. It was your great time while visiting.
