One of the movies I was in is on TV tonight

January 5, 2008 by Tricia

Long time readers of this blog might remember that way back when I had my own jewelry business (I would diamond cut designs on rings, bracelets, pendants and so on, gold plate jewelry and create jewelry molds – my business was called “Gold Cuts”) I also did some extra work in the movies and commercials.

Well … I did that for about two years when I was first starting my business, as well as working part time at jewelery store outside the city, working for another jeweler in the building I was in and at the Toronto Convention Center as a security guard. Yes, I held down a lot of part time jobs in order to pay the bills as my business got on it’s feet.

Of all the jobs that I did during that first year or two as I got my business going the extra work was by far the most fun. It didn’t pay all that well, but it was certainly an interesting experience. Plus it was fun to spot myself in some of the commercials and movies as they came out.

One of the movies that I was an extra in was called The Brain. It was supposed to be a horror movie, but I doubt anyone watching it was all that scared. It was a very bad movie!

I never did buy a copy of the movie when it came out and I think went straight to video, but Chris and I did rent it one night just for laughs. I think I can be seen in the movie five times. The best scene is one where I’m in the audience and I’m screaming in horror.

Last night I was going through the channels setting up shows I wanted to tape on our PVR (that’s like a TIVO) and I discovered that The Brain is being shown on DRIVIN tonight at 7:15 pm and again at 7 am on Sunday morning.

In the Toronto area DRIVIN is channel 327 on Rogers. I think you have to have the movie channel package to get that channel.

Just to show you how cheesy the movie is the TV description says: “Viewers of a talk show kill themselves after the host becomes allied with an alien brain.”

Uh huh … bad movie. LOL I think most of the movie takes place in the TV Studio so there’s no sexy scene or sexy corsets or anything remotely enticing! Believe me it would have helped the movie if there were some scenes like that.

If you are the least bit interested in seeing this movie be warned that it’s not a very good movie at all. If you just want to see me in it I suggest that you tape the movie and then fast forward until you get to the studio audience scenes and then watch for a girl in a blue dress. As I said there’s one scene where I’m doing a great fake horror scream and you can see my quite well in that shot.

This is the first time I’ve actually had a chance to make a copy of the movie. If I can I’ll try to get some screen shots of my “scenes“.

Let me know if you get a chance to see the movie.

Did you know that leashes are tasty?

This weeks theme is delicious

Labrador Retriever Puppy Midnight

I think our Lab puppy, Midnight, finds her leather leash to be absolutely delicious. She’s always trying to chew on it when we first put it on her. In the above photo I’d put the leash on before I got my winter coat and other gear on so she had time to settle down for a good chew.

Here’s an areal view:

Labrador Retriever Puppy Midnight

She already chewed through, or well just about chewed through, her vinyl leash just before Christmas. I wonder how long this one will last?

As you can see she’s grown a bit and I think she’s gained some weight. She’s doing a lot better although I think she’s still fighting something. She goes for her third set of shots on Monday.

Happy New Year!

January 4, 2008 by Tricia

Yes I’m a little behind. As usual lately!

I didn’t make any resolutions for the new year. I figure that resolutions should be made and hopefully kept over the whole year rather than making them on just one day and trying to live up to the weight of some of those resolutions.

My wishes for the year are to get back to doing what I was doing fairly well up until September or October of last year. That’s blogging regularly and hopefully well, keeping in touch with friends and family on and off line and just trying to be a good person over all.

Health is always on my wish/resolution list. My Crohn’s has been particularly bad over the last three years and every single day I hope that my Crohn’s flares will die down so that I can get back to work and a more normal lifestyle.

Healthwise 2007 wasn’t a great year, but it was good in other ways. I learned that I can earn an income working from home and it’s one that we can live on. That’s a good thing! I also discovered a number of great blogs and bloggers and had the pleasure of meeting a few of my new friends in Las Vegas in November. I hope to meet more bloggers in person each year – perhaps at blogging conventions or when traveling.

My little companion Midnight came into our lives in November. She’s our Labrador Retriever puppy. She’s adorable and is currently sleeping beside me on the couch. I guess it’s time to put her to bed.

I hope that all my friends and visitors to the site have a great 2008! Health and happiness to all! Thank you for sticking around and I hope that you’ll continue to visit through the rest of the year.

PureCosta has information about Costa Rica Real Estate and Living in Costa Rica

January 4, 2008 by Tricia

I’ve always had a list of places that I’d like to visit at least once in my life. Some places I’d even consider moving to if I enjoyed the area or country enough.

One of the places that I’d like to visit and would consider moving to is Costa Rica. I’ve been drawn to the country because if it’s wildlife.

If you’re interested in learning more about Costa Rica and perhaps interested in investing in property there you should visit the purecosta.com website.

The website is owned by Coldwell Banker. They are very passionate about Costa Rica – particularly the Southern Nicoya Peninsula. Their agents are licensed in both the USA and Costa Rica and they have a lot of experience in helping anyone who is interested in Costa Rica.

You can learn quite a bit about Costa Rica on the site. They have information about the country, the economy, what it’s like to live there, the people, the climate, currency, cost of living and taxes as well as information about investing in Costa Rica.

At this time there are 13 pages of property listings in the Listings section of the site. All I can say is you must take a look at the listings. The properties are beautiful! If you have any interest in purchasing a property in Costa Rica the listings page will make you seriously consider making an investment. Check it out.
