Since I haven’t been feeling that well over the last few days I spent some time finding pet related forums to visit. I’m new to owning a dog and I’ve still got a lot to learn. It’s good to have a few good dog related sites bookmarked so I can go and ask some questions if I’m not sure if something my puppy is doing is normal or not.
One of the sites that I came across is called the iContact Community. It’s actually a forum that archives newsletters and blog posts from small- and medium-sized organizations across the globe. Of course I headed straight to the pets forum to see what I could find!
I found a newsletter for funny dog stories that I ended up liking so much I subscribed to it’s RSS feed. There were also a few other sites with dog related articles that I ended up subscribing to as well.
You can find newsletters and RSS feeds for all kinds of topics at the iContact Community website. Topics range from Arts, Automotive, Entertainment, Business, Education, Events, health, hobbies, politics and several more categories. Have a look, perhaps you’ll find some sites of interest.

I wish ya all the best with your new puppy, Tricia!
I crate trained my puppy and it worked wonderfully! (He’s 4 years old now, and still cute as can be.) It was the first time I tried crate training, and if I ever get another puppy, I’m definitely using this method again. Here is a great site that explains how to crate train (in case your interested): http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/cratetraining.htm
P.S. My Do Follow blogroll wasn’t functioning properly today. Any ideas as to why? Was this an all-over glitch?
I’ll check it again tomorrow. It’ll probably be fine then. 🙂

Thanks Stacy – yes we’ve been crate training since day one and it’s worked out great! This is the first dog we’ve ever had and when I started writing on my blog that we were thinking of getting a dog a lot of people suggested we crate train so I looked into and since we got a Lab pup (notorious for chewing!) we decided to use the crate. I’d definitely use a crate again if we ever get another puppy.
Actually a lot of lab owners have told us that it takes them about two or three years to settle down so I think we’ll probably be using the crate until we can be fairly sure that she won’t ever chew the furniture while we’re out!
I just tried to load my copy of the blogroll and it wouldn’t work so I visited blogrolling.com and the page/site says fatal error so they are probably having some kind of server problem right now. Once they fix that our blogrolls should be loading again. Thanks for letting me know that it wasn’t loading.

Chilli yes I’m still updating the do follow blogroll. Blogrolling.com appears to be having a problem right now – I get an error page that says Fatal Error when I tried to visit blogrolling.com so they must be having some server problems or something. Hopefully it will be up and running again by morning. I’ll be updating the list with new submissions shortly.

I checked that site up, but it has to grow a bit more before I get any use for it, since it’s not much there yet concerning travel. Though Pets is a popular subject obviously!!!!
