Why is it that your hair looks better than it has in a while on the day that you’ve made an appointment to get your haircut? I mean pre-cut, of course.
That happened to me on Tuesday.
My hair grows really fast for some reason. I always say that my hair and my nails are my healthiest body parts, and HA they’re dead! Anyway … as a result of my fast hair growth it seems that I could get my haircut every two to four weeks, but who can afford that! Not I, not at the prices they charge for womens’ haircuts at decent salons anyway.
I tend to get my haircut every 6 to 8 weeks, but since my hair grows fast and seems to get wavier the longer it gets, the last week or so before I finally give in and pick up the phone to make an appointment is full of bad hair days. Except of course the day I’m supposed to get my hair cut!
So ladies, does this happen to you too?
I’m sure it happens to guys as well, but I know that most aren’t as fussy about how their hair looks as most women are …

Yes, Murphy’s law is always there in such and similar situations. You can’t fight it, and best thing is too cool down, and think that it could be worse and who knows why is good it happened to you.
Laane says
No, it doesn’t happen to me, because I cut my hair….. on a bad hair day.

I can’t remember the last time I made it to the hairdresser. I have bad hair days everyday 🙂

Had my hair cut today for the second time in 2 weeks. The first haircut was a disaster and I had to have it re-shaped. Just couldn’t live with it any longer. Hairdressers, I find, are the most uncreative species in the universe. You have to tell them exactly what you want otherwise they helplessly clutch their blowdriers and wait until you come up with something.

Not to me, but that’s only because I usually go in looking like a skank in sweats with my unwashed hair in a pony tail.

Yup! And it drives me crazy because then I rethink about getting whatever done that I had planned to have done (usually a highlight and cut). On the other hand, my hair looked great this past Tuesday when I came home from the salon. I got so many compliments that I thought, “gee my hair must have looked like crap before.” Go figure!

You’d be surprised how fussy men really are about their hair and they can be even worse than women. The Murphy Law thing is also just like a tooth ache as soon as your ready to go to the dentist it quits hurting or the ailment you had before going to a doctor of any sort.

Tricia,
That happens to me all the time with haircuts and highlights (and greys starting to show through)…though I am the most pampered Desperate Housewife in all of the Roxiticus Valley, perhaps the world. I’ve had the same awesome hairdresser for about 25 years, and she makes house calls just for me (and Rex and London and Maddie)!
I’m not sure if you’ve got the time to attend a gala awards ceremony, but I’d love to honor your blog with the Uber Amazing Blog Award…please slip into a little black dress and join me at Roxiticus Desperate Housewives if you can get a puppy-sitter for Midnight.
Hope you’re having a terrific weekend.

Listen To Me Bitch says
Although I am male, I have a similar phenomenon that occurs regarding my hair:
It never looks good until 2 weeks or so after it gets cut. I’ve tried different barbers and even a stylist or two, but for whatever reason, regardless of who cuts it or how long I tell them to leave it, it still won’t look good for 2 weeks…there’s no winning
