No this isn’t a Laundry Blog

January 19, 2010 by Tricia

Wow, I just realized that three of the last four posts that I’ve made this week are about laundry. LOL … no this is not about to become a laundry blog .. I’m just excited about my new front load High Efficiency washer and dryer and the experiments that I’m doing with them to get our clothes even cleaner and softer.

Hey it could be worse .. I could be talking about hemorrhoids relief or something like that all week. LOL

I promise, there will probably only be a couple more laundry related posts and then I’ll calm down. I think.

I’m actually thinking about doing a post or two about using vinegar, baking soda and borax in the laundry and around the house as cleaners. Just about everyone does laundry right … maybe you’ll learn a few money saving tips?

Tricia- I have used vinegar as a natural softener in the rinse load for several months now and like it much better than store products. I use the “downy ball” with vinegar to the line and toss in at the start of the load. Just be sure not to use more than to the line.I also use a homemade laundry soap made from washing soda, borax and fels naptha soap bar. I prefer the liquid version. I can make 30 + gallons for around $7.00. I pretreat stain/ heavily soiled area with fels naptha bar just prior to washing with good results. I wish I had adopted this method years ago! And no…the laundry does not have a funny smell!
