I can’t believe how fast the year has gone by. Christmas is what, less than 6 weeks away?
As usual, we haven’t started doing any of our Christmas shopping. In fact, I don’t think we’ll be doing much Christmas shopping this year. Chris came home from work last Friday with news that he’s going to be laid off for another two weeks at the end of December so we won’t be spending much money this year!
We do have a couple of friends and relatives with young kids and babies. I think we’ll concentrate on getting baby christmas presents and then see how we stand financially as to whether we can afford to get gifts for anyone else. Hey if we can’t we can’t … I know our friends and relatives will understand. We certainly don’t expect any gifts and won’t be upset if we don’t get anything.
All we really want for the holidays is for our friends and relatives (and ourselves) to be happy and healthy.

Hi!
I’m sure your relatives will understand your situation. I personally believe that Christmas has nothing to do with shopping and gifts – contrary, shopping and gifts can even ruin Christmas. Like many years before, I will only buy gifts for my closest relatives and nobody else. This will help me focusing on the more important things in Christmas time. Looking forward to your new posts.
Have fun!

Christmas and especially the ‘shopping’ is so stressful nowadays anyway. It takes the fun out of it and definitely takes away the true meaning of what Christmas is all about. I agree it has come around so quickly this year and I’m really putting off the inevitable Christmas shopping amongst thousands of harassed other shoppers, being unable to get parked and then to see it all half price on boxing day!

I had exactly the same thought this morning. Its like all the weeks and months rushed away like…
Im not in the mood for snow, cinnamon cookies and x-mas.
