Did you watch the Royal Wedding?

May 5, 2011 by Tricia

Did you watch the Royal wedding on TV? Or if not on TV did you catch all or part of it online?

I didn’t stay up late or get up early to watch, but since we have a PVR I taped 6 hours of it and ran through some of the pre-wedding stuff, watch the ceremony and then fast-forwarded pretty much to the balcony kiss. Then, being in Canada, I saw endless recaps on TV all Friday evening and throughout the weekend (well up to late Sunday night then some other big news story took over). So I guess I’m more than a little burned out on Royal wedding news.

Is anyone else surprised at how fast Prince Williams hairline seems to be receding though? It seems like a year or so ago he had a much fuller head of hair. Perhaps all of the stress of his new career and then the lead up to the wedding made his hair come out faster? I wonder if he’s tried using any hair loss products all all?

I suppose since Canada is a Commonwealth Country we’ll continue to hear quite a bit about Prince William and Kate at least until their visit to Canada is over and one with this July .. then the news about them will start to die down. I hope. It’s just been constant since last summer .. I’m more than ready to not hear about them daily.

I was curious to see the dress, and I’ve seen it … and that was it for me!

I’m sure it was a nice event, but I’m not a big fan of the royal family.

I think I must be the only Brit who avoided it. I am not anti Royal but have very little interest in official ceremonies and fuss

An estimated 2 billion people watched the Royal Wedding. The marriage of Kate Middleton (now Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) to Prince William (now Prince William, Duke of Cambridge) is the first Royal Wedding since 2005. At that time, Facebook was barely a year old, YouTube was two months young and Twitter didn’t even exist. Live streaming, popularized by services such as Justin.tv and Ustream, was still years away from its ascension to mainstream society.

Today, millions of people are tweeting and Facebooking about the Royal Wedding, and millions have chosen to enjoy the pomp and circumstance through livestreams and mobile devices. It’s safe to say that Kate and Will’s marriage is the first Royal Wedding of the social media era.

Tricia, you always have the best blogs. I didn’t catch much of the royal wedding, but I did see day 2 and 3 of continuous, and repeated airing of it. What I did manage to see is how much they are trying to relate Kate to Princess Diana. It’s cool and everything, and I’m sure Kate blushes when she hears that. I just don’t feel like they’ve given the woman anytime to just be her self. I donno. Thanks again, Tricia

I watched a recording of the wedding and I was thinking the same thing. What happened to Prince Williams hair! They had so many head shots showing his poor receding hairline. I am sure stress could have alot to do with it. Even his father Prince Charles has more hair so it is not a genetic issue.

Of course I did! Yes, Prince William needs to go for a hair saving mission. But the wedding was superb.

After the untimely demise of Princess Diana and the failure of some of the other royal marriages over the years I didn’t have the same level of interest in the royal wedding. That said, I did watch it.

I surprised my self by watching nearly all of it, and I confess I did enjoy it. I wish the couple well, and a long and happy marriage together. They have had the best possible start anyway.

I didn’t watch it. I understand it’s a big thing for that country but honestly I had no interest in seeing it at all. But 2 billion other people did apparently! WOW

I recorded it and watched it the next day.

it was a pretty spectacular event.

Although I must say, I have noticed the same thing with Prince William’s receding hair line.

Not sure if he’s tried any hair loss products though. Either way, he could sure afford any of the treatments out there!

I watched the wedding and my girlfriend flew over from Denmark. I Planned a picnic in the garden but it was a grey day so I lay my Union Jack blanket on the kitchen floor and we ate sandwiches and drank champagne there instead, it was a lovely day 🙂

The morning of the royal wedding I was actually working on a wedding video. The wedding fell on a bank holiday weekend in Ireland so lots of brides here have the same wedding date as kate and will

I have to admit that I didn’t watch it. Of course, it was kind of hard to miss all the news coverage, magazine photo spreads, etc. All I really wanted to see was the dress 🙂
