You can always tell which neighbors are heading out of town as soon as the kids are our of school, can’t you?
Most lower schools let out here in Toronto on Friday and I wasn’t surprised to see several people packing up their cars with camping gear and even a few big trailers in the neighborhood. Obviously some people are planning some big trips – maybe cross country trips. Hopefully they bought motorhome insurance before they left.
My husband is on holiday right now too, but we aren’t going anywhere this summer. We’re just sticking around home. There’s plenty to do in the city. There’s the jazz festival down town right now, and it’s Pride week if we want to see what’s happening with that, it’s certainly fun to watch the parade!
Are you going on holiday this summer? What are you going to do?

I’d like to stay at home too. Make a cup of tea and read some books. The jazz festival in your city seems very interesting. Hope we will have one.

I also will be in my home town, but I was lucky, I live near the sea. I’ll going to the beach during my holidays. Woohooo!!! 🙂 Happy summer!

Time sure flies – July is almost here and I haven’t got around to plan my vacation. With such a bad weather, I don’t think I’ll be seeing the sea very soon.

Thank you for sharing your latest happenings Tricia! I guess it is ideal to stay home for this summer than going out of town due to the fact that the crisis is hitting us now, therefore we need to save. The good thing is that, there are some events happening in your area that you could enjoy. So let’s save while enjoying with our family, I think that’s the best thing to do this summer.
All the best,
Mia

Tricia, I have been traveling the world to hit all the jazz festivals possible. After reading this I just might put the Toronto one on my list next.

Unfortunately this year will be another year of no holidays for me. Any time off is spent on home improvements.

Just spent the past two weeks on Gozo an island of Malta in the Med. A rare destination that has yet to be spoilt by commercialisation.
Really, genuine friendly people that appreciate the visitors that bring tourism income to their island.
Simple living, low cost, good food and drink, no crime, just beautiful sunshine and a peaceful environment.
I cannot wait to return. I have never been so chilled out on a vacation.

Just spent 2 weeks in Gran Canaries with my family. Beautiful island and nice people. Get car and get to know the island. Weather is fantastic and prices are ok. There are activities for everyone from 1-99 years. Been there for the first but not the last time!

Time that flies is only good when you have already planned your vacation! I live in more of a college town and summers are actually nice. While most of the students are respectful, etc, its nice to have no traffic during the day.

Sometimes its good not to be on a holiday & rather enjoy lazy hazy days of summers.

Oooh, you know it’s my summer slogan “its good not to be on a holiday”, may be because i’ve been on a holiday till all last year :)))
