Have you ever thought about what you would do with your days if you didn’t have to work? Now who am I to ask that seeing as I’m not actually working these days huh? That’s not by choice though, and not because I’m lucky enough to not have to work. Nope, unfortunately I’ve had to take an extended leave of absence due to illness.
But if I didn’t have to work … either because I won or inherited a lot of money or perhaps was born wealthy, let see, what would I do instead?
I’d like to think that I would do something good with my life like try to help underprivileged youth in my city, or perhaps go to a Third World Country and start an education program for the people and teach them how to be self sustaining as well as providing them with the materials to get themselves started.
I’d start more city “Grow your own food” programs by securing land that people could use to plant gardens and grow their own vegetables and fruit, and I’d teach people how to do that well.
I’d also indulge in my passion for photography and try to develop it into a real talent, and donate my world renowned photographs to the National Geographic. LOL
That’s what good Trish would do, but there’s a bad Trish here too. One that can be very self indulgent at times.
Bad Trish would probably go to College or University meaning to take a course that would help her achieve good Trish’s goals, but she’d end up partying every night and not going to all of her classes. She’d probably only attend the afternoon classes since she’d be up so late the night before that she wouldn’t be able to get up for class anyway.
Once Bad Trish gave up on University or flunked out she’d end up spending time in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Los Vegas, London and Paris at the hottest parties, fashion shows and red carpet events. She’d probably end up in the tabloids at least once a week. I’m sure bad Trish would be a Paris Hilton type character – except she’d be smarter and have a little more class.
Perhaps bad Trish would mellow as she aged and become a nicer person donating to charity or appearing at fund raisers for worthy causes, but she’d probably always be a bit of a “me first” person I’m afraid.
Now it’s your turn. If you had more than enough money to life on and do anything you wanted to do in life what would you do? Everyone has a selfish side – would you treat the selfish you, or would you try to bring out the best in yourself by being a wonderful person with your deeds?
