This is a photo of a fading Morning Glory. I took this photo last Sunday in the late afternoon.
Morning glory vines are very vigorous. I’ve spent many years pulling tiny plants out of my back flower bed but each year some come up. This one escaped me until it grew enough to bloom.
The morning glory’s vine flowers bloom in the early morning – often at first light and by the time that the sun is full, perhaps 10 am or so, the flowers begin to die down and close. Each flower only lasts one day.
As I said I captured this one in the late afternoon as it was dying. It was still a beauty.
