Damon Wayans, a popular comedian, walked out just before a sold out performance was set to begin in El Paso Texas.
The upset occurred last Friday night when Wayans discovered that two female friends had not been immediately allowed into the club.
Wayans left five minutes before his second show and canceled his Saturday and Sunday shows as well. All the shows had been sold out.
This seems a little over the top to me, but then, we don’t know the full story yet.
That’s going to be one heck of a legal judgment against him unless he had a contract rider or provision requiring the club to admit his two friends.
Hot tempers are well and good — Lord knows I use mine to my advantage as much as possible — but there’s a reason it’s called “cold justice.”
The two friends, were hookers he’d hung out with the night before. I was in the lobby area, when most of this took place.
I happen to know that the owner of the Comic Strip would never say or do anything racist. All that would do, is hurt his business. Also, several employees there who are black, would have taken major offesne, had something such as Damon claims having happened, actually took place.
Damon is just washed up, and needs to retire. He hasn’t done anything worth while in years, and what he did do, sucked.
