Tis the season to run short on cash

Christmas is coming up soon and I bet some of you are using all of your available funds on Christmas gifts. Don’t worry I’ve been there and done that before too. It can make the beginning of the New Year rather difficult to get through when you do, do that though.

I was wondering if any of you have ever taken out a payday loan. They can come in handy when you are between paychecks, but have an important bill to pay before your next pay is to come in … or perhaps occasionally in cases like this where you just need some extra funds to pull you through the Christmas season, or the after period in the New Year.

You can go right to the Pay Day Loan site and apply online or use one of their branch offices to get a quick loan. At the bottom of the main Pay Day Loan site you’ll find State and City listings. I only found listings for the United States and as you know I’m in Canada, but I clicked on the nearest listed US city to me and it was Clevland Ohio. I found listings for several Cleavland based Cash advance, financial loan, and credit and debt management companies that one could go to for financial advice and or a loan when needed.

Rosie Apologizes

Rosie O’Donnels the queen of Nice? I don’t know after seeing her performance on the view last week when she mockingly spoken in broken English with a Chinese accent. This week she addressed her attempt at humor and made a formal on camera apology.

After running the clip of her offensive performance last December 5th, she said “This apparently was very offensive to a lot of Asian people. So I asked Judy, who’s Asian and works here in our hair and makeup department. I said, ‘Was it offensive to you?’ And she said, ‘Well, kinda. When I was a kid people did tease me by saying ching-chong.’

“So apparently ‘ching-chong,’ unbeknownst to me, is a very offensive way to make fun, quote-unquote, or mock, Asian accents. Some people have told me it’s as bad as the n-word. I was like, really? I didn’t know that.”

She went on to say that she never intended to hurt anyone with her remarks and that she was sorry for those people we felt hurt, but went on to warn that there was a good chance she might do something like that again in the future – Not on Purpose of course.

Headache of refinancing our Mortgage

We’ve been in our home now for five and a half years, and just this past June we had to renegotiate our Mortgage and decided to try mortgage refinancing so that we could get a better rate and lower our payments over all.

Since we’d never been through the process of renewing and or negotiating a current mortgage loan for a new one with a lower rate we were pretty confused. I went back and forth on the phone with our mortgage company and broker several times over a period of three weeks or so before we settled on a deal that would give us an adjustable rate mortgage with pretty much the same low interest rate that we’d been paying. However thanks to our paying down on our loan just prior to refinancing we were able to lower the monthly payments by a fraction. That’s come in very handy in recent months.

I’m really not looking forward to the next time we have to deal with our mortgage company, but at least this time I’ve got a little bit of experience. I’ve also found a website that is full of great information on Mortgages- getting one, and refinancing, plus the site even offers assistance if finding you a broker. I think I’ll spend some time over there reading up on all the information before I go through this experience again.

George Clooney wants to star in Bollywood film

Have you heard that George Clooney has considered starring in a Bollywood film to help raise the profile of Indian cinema in the West? Yes it’s true, as unbelievable as it sounds.

He was recently quoted as saying “Iâ€™d love to act in a Bollywood film .. I was watching a film the other day and the music was just amazing. Itâ€™s become such a huge industry. There is a small market in the States as of now, but it will be fun if it catches on because it is such a positive way of looking at film making and I really love that. I truly think itâ€™s fun.”

In other Clooney news his beloved 300 pound pet pig Max died at the beginning of December.

George and Max had been together for 19 years and George often said that his relationship with Max was the longest one he’d ever had. Max had had serious health problems in recent years, he had arthritis and was partially blind.

Georges bulldog also passed away earlier this year.
