Nicole Richie fell ill while filming The Simple Life on Friday and was briefly hospitalized for dehydration.
Ritchie was examined by a doctor on the set, and then taken to a nearby hospital where she was given intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and then released. As a nurse I find this to be a ridiculously short period of time to have been treated for dehydration and feel that she couldn’t have been all that dehydrated. She might as well have drank a glass or two of water or juice.
Nicole’s rep said in a statement “Nicole is home resting and will return to work this evening, We are proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining and her focus on her health.”
Last October Ritchie had announced that she was seeking treatment for what her rep has described as an inability to gain weight. More than likely Anorexia as suspected by pretty much anyone else in the know.
“She is working with a team of doctors and specialists whose focus is nutrition, It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder.”
In November a friend of Nicole’s said that she’d seen an improvement and that Nicole had put on at least 5 pounds. She does still look slim but Nicole does look much better than she did last summer and early Autumn.

Jeff Goldblum has filed a restraining order against a 44 year old woman. Goldblum claims that she has shown up at his house “unannounced and uninvited 20 times within the past month and over 50 times in the last three months.”
