Alanis Morissette and Ryan Reynolds break up – again

You know, for some reason I really thought this couple was going to make it. I was really surprised when they broke up last June, and happy to hear that they’d gotten back together just a short time later.

Unfortunately Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have called it quits again and been officially announced by their reps Dvora Vener and Meredith O’Sullivan.

In a joint statement both reps said “Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement.

“They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter.”

The couple, both Canadian born, met in 2002 and dated for two years before becoming engaged in 2004.

Britney’s happy to be single

It probably comes as no surprise that Britney Spears doesn’t miss being married. On Friday, People, asked Britney what is was like being single and she replied “It’s awesome.”

Spears was in New York attending fashion shows for the Baby Phat by Kimora Lee Simmons and KLS Collections Fall 2007.

Spears posed for photographers as she arrived. She was dressed in a sexy black spaghetti-strapped dress and black peek-a-boo pumps.

Britney chatted with her assistant as models paraded around on stage in tweed outfits, double breasted coats and big fur hats. She applauded with the crowd when various designs were shown. She was over heard saying “Oh My God” when she saw model Alek Wek dressed in a colorful halter dress that dragged on the floor in back but was a mini in the front. She said the collection was amazing.

Kimora Lee Simmons, who was backstage after the show, said of Spears: “Sometimes she gets a hard rap…But she is a very talented girl.”

Farrah Fawcett is cancer free

Farrah Fawcett just got great news from her doctor – She’s Cancer Free.

“Her prognosis is excellent,” Dr. Gary Gitnick, Fawcett’s lead physician at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, said in a statement, adding that Fawcett “has had a full and complete response to treatment.”

Farrah first revealed that she’d been diagnosed with Cancer last October. In her statement on Friday she said “This is an extraordinarily happy day for me and my family. I have been on a journey for the past four months and during this time received a tremendously aggressive treatment which doctors initially warned me would be the most difficult fight of my life.”

She continued, “In the face of excruciating pain and uncertainly, I never lost hope and it never occurred to me to stop fighting â€“ not ever.”

Fellow Angel Kate Jackson, who helped lend support while Fawcett was undergoing treatment, said, “I have never seen anyone go through so much with such dignity and determination. I am in awe of her strength and courage.”

Fawcett’s spokesman, Mike Pingel, said the actress plans to mark her birthday Friday with family and friends, and hopes to go back to work “in the next month or two.”

Fawcett also said, “I hope that my news might offer some level of inspiration to others who unfortunately must continue to fight the disease.”

Anne Heche’s Husband seeks divorce

There’s been rumors all week that Anne Heche has been having an affair with her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper.

On Thursday Anne Heche’s husband Coley Laffoon, filed for divorce. The couple have been married for five years. Laffoon, cited irreconcilable differences and he is seeking joint custody of their 4 year old son, Homer, and spousal support from Heche.

Heche’s rep had confirmed in late January that the couple had seperated, using the usual “They have requested that they be allowed their privacy at this time.”

Reps for Heche and Tupper have not confirmed that there is a romance. However the pair have been spotted in public showing affection for one another. On January 13th Heche spent part of a flight from Vancouver to L.A. in Tuppers lap! Later that same month the couple were spotted in Vancouvers Gotham Steakhouse having dinner and enjoying each others company.

Recovery more important than “No Importance” for Lohan

Linsday Lohan has decided to drop out of the upcoming film “A Woman of No Importance” so she can focus on getting better. This comes after several weeks of harsh criticism claiming that Lohan hasn’t been taking her recovery seriously.

A publicist for Lohan, Leslie Sloane Zelnic, says that Lindsay is putting herself first and that she’s decided not to push herself. Lindsay will take a few more months of downtime to recover before she goes on a press tour to promote the upcoming “Georgia Rules”.

I certainly hope that downtime for Lindsay means that she’ll go back to rehab and stay there for a while.

Lohan was set to work with Annette Bening on “Importance”. Oddly enough this is the second time the pair have been set to work together and the second time that one of them has had to bow out. The other movie that was to star the pair was Freaky Friday, and in that case it was Bening that bowed out.

I wonder if Lindsay will still film “The Best Time of Our Lives” with Keira Knightley which is set to begin filming in London this spring.
