Totally blown away by Feist – Juno Awards

by Tricia

I’m watching the Juno Awards – that’s Canada’s music awards which are our equivalent to the Grammy’s and Feist is taking a lot of awards.

The Juno’s are held over two days. There was a private dinner ceremony on Saturday night where the bulk of the awards were handed out. Feist pretty much took the big awards – Artist of the year and Song writer of the year.

Other than seeing her perform her song 1234 for the itunes/ ipod commercial on TV I’ve never really seen Feist perform.

I can’t say that anymore! She performed at the Juno’s and totally blew me away. In some ways she reminded me a little bit of Bjork but with a much more mainstream sound. I’d love to go to one of her concerts. I’m sure she’d be a performer worth seeing.

Avril Lavigne also performed at the Junos. She sang Girlfriend. Her backup dancers where sturdy looking girls. It a way it was nice to see more “every woman” type dancers highlighted in an area where usually only the thin and skeletal get to play.

Other big winners at the Juno’s were Finger Eleven for Rock Album of the Year – Them Vs. You Vs. Me.

Here’s the list of Saturday Nights winners. I’ll add the official Sunday night telecasts winners shortly.

Do you remember Pete Burns the lead singer of the 80’s band Dead or Alive? Remember their hit song “You spin me round”?

Ok well this is what he used to look like during the bands heyday:

Prince has a new Perfume

by Tricia

Prince has a new perfume coming out soon and it sounds absolutely divine.

I love this guy. He’s one of the best musicians around, and there’s no denying that he’s got a lot of character and now he’s even got his own perfume. Gotta love it.

The perfume is in a light translucent purple bottle and it’s called 3121 after his last album.

Notice that 3121 add up to the number 7? The perfume will be introduced in select Macy’s stores on 7, 7, 07.

If you want to hear more about Prince’s new perfume just watch the video. Oh and feel free to press that mash button so that you can use this video on your site too.

Mandy Moore Fractures Ankle

by Tricia

mandy_moore2.jpg If you’ve been wondering why Mandy Moore has been wearing a walking caset on her right leg for the past few weeks it’s because she fractured her ankle at the end of February while in Mexico for a Self Magazine photo shoot. She injured herself while jumping off of a boat.

Moore’s been having quite a year so far. Her movie “Because I said So” hit theaters in February and her new album “Wild Hope” will launch on May 8th.

She’ll also grace the cover of Self Magazine’s June issue.

Earlier in the year she’d briefly been seeing DJ AM, but she broke that relationship off last month.

This past Saturday she got slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Hmmm I wonder if any of the slime got into her walking cast? Ewww.
