with all the tabloids and magazines following the exploits of Britney Spears and her BFF Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and others at many of the hot spots lately, Britney felt that she needed to defend herself.
Spears claims that “It’s been so long since I’ve been out on the town with friends. It’s also been 2 years since I’ve even celebrated my birthday,” Spears, who marked her 25th birthday on Saturday with a bash at Mr. Chow’s restaurant in Beverly Hills, writes on her Web site.
“Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a bit too far,” Spears writes. “Anyway, thank God for Victoria Secrets’ new underwear line! I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me.”
Wait, what’s that about Victoria Secrets new underwear line? Last I heard Britney hasn’t been wearing any undies.

Paris Hilton and Britney Spears have become BFF.
The pair have been inseparable over the last week or so, but they do spend some time apart.
For instance, Britney partied with Paris’ good friend Brandon Davis on Wednesday night at the Roosevelt Hotel, but Paris decided to have a calmer evening and slummed it while wearing a mis-matched tracksuit with chipped black nail varnish. Oh Dear! Paris has told photographers about her new friendship saying “I love her. She is the sweetest girl I know. She’s so down-to-earth. I just want her to smile and be happy.â€
Mean while, actor Jude Law has said that it was a pleasure to work with Cameron Diaz while filming their new movie The Holiday. He said recently: “Having Cameron around is like having the sun on set every day. She understands that kind of film so well. I learned a great deal just by watching her.†The film premiered in London and New York this week.
The divorce between Charlie Sheen and his now Ex- wife Denise Richards has ended quietly even though it started off badly and loudly. The couple still must resolve custody issues for their two daughters – Sam 2 yrs old, and Lola age 1.

Britney Spears and her husband kevin Federline teamed up to shoot a skit for the MTV video music awards last night. Th couple made light of recent criticism that they are bad parents in the skit when a pregnant Spears asked her husband where he’d put their baby son Sean Preston.
Federline stated, “I thought you had him.” The camera cut to what looked like baby Sean Preston speeding around in a customized sports car. The joke failed to raise a laugh. Spears and Federline returned to present a taped run down of the Best R&B Video nominations.
Federline’s acting career heats up later this month when he appears in the season opener of TV drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He has also landed a role on Entourage.
