Think you know your trivia? Try Trivia Games

by Tricia

Everyone likes a little bit of trivia now and then don’t they?

If you enjoy playing games where your knowledge of trivia matters you’ll love the Trivia Games website.

When you visit the site you’ll see that there are a number of Trivia topics ranging from Music, Entertainment, Sports and even jackpot games. The games are none stop so you can enjoy them 24/7 and even earn money while playing.

When you sign up as a member of Trivia Games you can play against other members in trivia tournaments, write trivia questions to stump your opponents and even create your own personal trivia page.

Also, when you sign up as a member you are given $5 absolutely free so that you can try the games and when you start playing for real you’ll get a 50% bonus. The real money games are not available in all US states. For example if you live in Arizona, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, or Vermont you won’t be able to play the real money games. You will however be able to access the free games and they are plenty fun.

I signed up just to check it out and as a Canadian it looks like I have access to both the free and money games, I got a $2 bonus when I signed up and then another $3 when I confirmed my registration.

When you select a game to play – I chose Entertainment Trivia – a large screen comes up and you can choose from a variety Trivia games. Some are free, and the rest have a variety of entry fees ranging from 50 cents and up. Once you pick a game to play all you need to do is wait for it to start and then begin typing in your answers when a question pops up. It’s easy and fun.

The trivia questions are chosen randomly from the TriviaOnNet question banks by an automated game logic.

Other than joining in the Trivia games or playing in Trivia tournaments registered members of Trivia Games can create their own blog, create buddy lists, join discussion groups, invite friends, or add photos and video. There’s quite a community feel to Trivia Games.

In my short experience in using the site I found that Trivia Games worked well on my computer system (PC) and that the games were easy to join and fun to play.

So if you enjoy playing Trivia games go to the Trivia Games site and sign up. I’m sure you’ll have fun!

Isaiah appologizes

by Tricia

It seems that Greys Anatomy star Isaiah Washington set off a firestorm over his comments at Mondays Golden Globes. He’d been questioned about having previously called co-star T.R. Knight a faggot and he used the offensive word again when talking with reporters.

“I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. By repeating the word Monday night, I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.

I know the power of words, especially those that demean. I realize that by using one filled with disrespect I have hurt more than T.R. and my colleagues. With one word, I’ve hurt everyone who has struggled for the respect so many of us take for granted. I welcome the chance to meet with leaders of the gay and lesbian community to apologize in person and to talk about what I can do to heal the wounds I’ve opened.

T.R.’s courage throughout this entire episode speaks to his tremendous character. I hold his talent, and T.R. as a person, in high esteem. I know a mere apology will not end this, and I intend to let my future actions prove my sincerity.”

Bollywood hits Toronto

by Tricia

bollywoodtoronto.jpg The hottest Bollywood movie out of India, Guru, premiered Thursday night in Toronto, Canada. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, the stars of the film, and the new Brad and Angelina of the Indian community.

Arpana Vora declared that the couple were “Absolutely gorgeous. Both of them. Just stunning!”, moments after the darling duo was whisked along the red carpet and into the screening.

Rai, who wore a white sari, and Bachchan, who donned a black suit and headband, were several hours late for the gala because of flight schedules and didn’t stop for questions. The delay built momentum at Toronto’s historic Elgin Theatre where the crowd of approximately 1,200 fans stood screaming on the sidewalk behind barriers for 6 hours. Yet another 1,200 filmgoers were already inside the theater.

The films producers chose Toronto for the premiere after receiving an impressive response for “Never Say Goodbye” which was another Bollywood film. That film had premiered at The Toronto International Film Festival this past September. The Gala crowd out numbered that for Brad Pitts film Babel.

“The South Asian community is very important to our city and so is the film industry. Bollywood brings them together,” said Mayor David Miller as he walked into the screening.

Producer Bobby Bedi (“Bandit Queen,” “Fire”) said at the premiere he chose Toronto for his premiere because it “by far is one most cosmopolitan city in the world.”

“Guru” is loosely based on the life of a young man who rose from poverty in a small Indian village in the 1950s to defy the odds and become a major textile merchant. In the film version, the character of Gurukant Desai (Bachchan) employs unethical methods to achieve his materialistic goals but does what he has to do to crack a market firmly controlled by the rich and privileged.

Rai – who has been described as giving Halle Berry strong competition for the unofficial title of most beautiful woman in the world – plays his wife Sujatha.

“She was stunning. Stunning. Very beautiful,” said Adesh Vora after he caught a glimpse of Rai. Looking at his wife though, he hesitated to concur that Rai is the most beautiful woman on Earth.

“My wife is number one,” he said.
