A press conference was held earlier today by Seminole Police Department Chief Charlie Tiger. He’s announced that Anna Nicole Smith died of “an accidental overdose with no other criminal element present”.
He went on to say that the police conducted a thorough investigation into the cause of Smith death. The investigation included going over hundreds of hours of video tapes captured by hotel security cameras, and analyzing the laptop contents of Howard K. Stern’s computer. In the end they found nothing that would indicated foul play.
Joshua Perper, the Broward County medical examiner, had earlier declined to make the autopsy results public until he saw the evidence stated that Smiths system contained anti-anxiety and weight reducing drugs, possibly vitamins, methadone and other substances.
Anna Nicole died 6 weeks ago on February 8th in a Hollywood, Florida hotel.
The police chief stated during his press conference that his department found “no evidence of illegal drugs” at the death scene.
On another note, an inquest into the death of Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel, who died in September, began today in the Bahamas.
Update – apparently there was a mix of 11 or so over the counter and prescription drugs in Anna Nicole’s system at the time of her death. These drugs included antidepressants, sleeping aids, vitamin B12 and growth hormone.
