Actor Eddie Murphy is finally owning up to the fact that he is in fact the father of the baby that Melanie Brown, Former Spice Girl, gave birth to in April.
He and Melanie lunched together last week and shortly after meeting with Brown Murphy’s rep stated that he “acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy.”
Throughout Brown’s pregnancy Murphy had questioned the paternity of the baby, however in June DNA tests were done to establish the fact that the little girl, Angel Iris born on April 3rd, is indeed Eddie Murphy’s child.
Brown and her lawyer Gloria Allred have accused Murphy of not paying “one penny of child support.” Now that paternity has been established Melanie Brown will be seeking sole custody.
Murphy is already the father of five children whom he had with former wife Nicole Murphy. Their divorce was recently finalized and Murphy is now engaged to Tracey Edmonds.

James Brown died suddenly in the early hours of Monday morning after being admitted to the Emory Crawford Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He’d been diagnosed with pneumonia, but Heart Failure is the reported cause of death. Brown was 73 years old, and he’s survived by his partner, Tomi Rae Hynie, who was one of his back-up singers, and at least four children.
