Fuchsia Buds:
Fuchsia blossoms, so delicate:
I usually treat fuchsia as an annual plant, but this year I may either try to collect some seeds from my potted fuchsia or try to keep it over winter.
I guess the smart thing to do would be – do both. Right, I will.
Has anyone else from a cool winter climate tried over-wintering Fuchsia in the home? If you did, how did it work out?

Not exactly with a Fuchsia, but other plants and I really never got fully satiesfied with the results.
But I suspect that I did not give them as much nourishment as the plant school did. They tend to overdo it I thought, but I changed my mind over that.
I’ve learned that If you want really lush plants, go for the nutrition path already early in the spring and keep on during the whole season.
Goes even for the lawn. Watering is important yes, but the manuring is more important than even that, to get a green lawn!

Good advice from Mrs Lifecruiser. I learned that any plant that flowers is heavy feeder and you need a good organic fertilizer and to time it right.
My mom overwinters geraniums by pulling up the plant before it’s totally dead, hanging it upside down and putting in a cool but NOT cold area until early spring when she replants it and starts watering.
I will be interested in how this turns out for you. I like fuchsia but never buy one. I dunno.
Have a great GTS!
