I’ve only seen maybe a total of 4 grasshoppers since I moved back to this house. Really strange since I grew up dodging them while playing outside.

Funny you mentioned crickets. I live in the house I grew up in-my dad built it himself. Unfortunately, when the land was dug for the basement, they (friend helped him dig) dug right into a cricket’s nest. We never knew crickets actually “nested”, but, they do. The first year of living in the house was a nightmare because crickets came out from everywhere! And the chirping at night would drive you crazy. I see a cricket every once in a while in the basement now, but NOTHING like it was when I was little.

He’s definately colorful, but I have to admit that these things give me the willies. When I was in 6th grade we had to do a bug collection and these guys were the easiest to catch. They would spit brown juice all over the jars…YUCK!

    I love the bright colour.
