Garden Mums

I finally broke down and got myself some garden Mums or chrysanthemums for our front porch about two weeks ago:

These flowers are in a beautiful urn on my front steps. Prior to having the Mums in the urn I had a small tropical Hibiscus there, but since it’s getting cooler and cooler I brought the hibiscus in and replaced it with the mums.

In a couple of weeks I may divide the huge Mum plant and plant it in my front garden bed. What the heck, might as well see if I can get these ones to live for a few years, like I did before.

Happy Sunday!

I’d Like to welcome the new members who’ve recently joined Green thumb Sunday. We’ve had a few new people in the last two weeks or so – and there’s a couple more people who’ve expressed a desire to join in, but I haven’t heard back from them since I sent them the Green Thumb information. Who knows perhaps they will join in the fun today since they sounded eager to play.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

I have never seen a mum like this one! It is very rich with different colors. One of my goals today is to find some mums and pansy’s and get them into my garden for a touch of winter color!Very nice shot!

I love the fact that these flowers have so much different colour, from the blue in the centre to the cremes and purples, very nice indeed.

That is a very unusual color combination and I love it. It’s almost gradient. I can understand that you just had to have it ๐Ÿ™‚

BTW: I’ll continue my campaign for the Green Thumb Sunday blogroll. For some of them I think it’s simply a fact of getting the technique to work for them. Not every one have heard of the “blogroll concept” before. I’ve had a couple of questions about it.

I saw the biggest pots of mums this weekend. I’m dying to have one of them but they probably cost more than what I’m willing to spend lol
Have a great Sunday, Tricia. I’m glad to see your GTS meme growing!

Beautiful rich Autumn colors. I think I’ll have to go pick some up too! ๐Ÿ˜› I’m really enjoying GTS, finding different plants and different ways to grow them. Have a Happy Sunday too Tricia!

Very pretty … er Mums? I’m always amused when I read that as we never refer to them as ‘mums’. It’s always either chrysanthemums or perhaps ‘chrissies’, but never ‘mums. It’s interesting the different terminology used in different countries.

I hope your ‘Mums’ provide you with much colour for many weeks.
