My how the Clematis has grown!

I took this photo of the Clematis Jackmanii in July 2003. Believe it or not there are probably at least three small roses in the flower bed below that clematis.

These days – that clematis now grows over the roof of the garage on the left, and spreads at least 10 feet more to the right. It’s HUGE.

The little roses that I’m telling you are in that photo – that you can’t really see, are now as tall as the fence or taller.

Here’s a photo of two of the roses just a bit to the right of the above photo this year. All my roses are four to twelve feet tall this year. It’s amazing how much they’ve grown in just a few years.

I love clematis! I planted my first clematis flower this year beside our mailbox in hopes of the vine growing around the post (with some training lol!).
Yours is spectacular! And your roses are always so perfect :))

    That’s just a wonderful sight!

Oh, that reminds me of my Jackmanii I had. It really did grow the second year, just fabulous! and then the third year just when it should bloom, it got some sickness of some kind an just died for me…. I was so sad…*sobbing*

I do hope you don’t get the same experience!!!!

I love Clematis, but I know it can be a problem for some people when it takes over the whole garden lol. I just love to see the flowers and the greenery it bears.

Any flowers that are purple are my favorite flowers, but especially purple roses or lilacs. Your garden is so beautiful.

I love a good clematis, in fact I think we have the same one, although not in flower right now! Very nice.
