Last January, Toronto, Ashbridges Bay area, The Beach.
This was an snow and ice cave that the waves crashing onto the beach helped form.
See the snow? yeah, we actually had snow last year in January.
This year, there’s only been a scant amount that’s melted almost as soon as it’s fallen. What a difference! BTW this photo goes with the one I have on Tricia’s Musings today, that post has more info about our unseasonably warm winter- so far.
This weeks a little cooler. Actually it’s going to be cooler than it was even in December.
However it’s still no where near as cool as it normally is in January. That’s why I’m also posting a photo of a lovely purple Hyacinth for you today. I’m beginning to think that my spring flowers will come up in late February or March rather than April and May when they usually arrive.

I think we are having unusually warm weather. I am just hoping it stays that way so nothing gets ruined by coming up too soon!
I might plant some late bulbs since the grown is still so soft and warm!
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi
Think we’re having similar weather here in UK – it’s very mild here none of the white stuff yet like in your pic.
Haven’t been able to get my GTS blogroll up yet on my site. Don’t know why, I’ll try again today.
Best wishes

You seem to have the same weather as we have over here.
I do hope that it stays this warm, just think about what a gardening year this can be then! Even if i’m not having a garden on my own, I can still enjoy others 🙂

I hope we have early flowers. I am more concerned that some of our finicky flowers like roses will have “wet feet” for too long

I love the colours in that photo.

Yep, we’re having weird weather here in Michigan, too. It finally started getting really cold over the weekend. Usually, we have a few inches of snow on the ground by now.
The pic of the snow cave is cool, but I’m loving the hyacinths. I can’t wait to see mine again!
